Two words: Beer Candy.

I don't often repeat beers in my quest to try them all, but this is one my hubby buys for me when I've been a very good girl and tried all the odd, smoked and funky beers. This beer simply rocks.

While it pours like most tripels, the real treat is soon to follow it's honey-yellow glow. It has minimal head that foams to millions of tiny bubbles when swirled.

Fresh baked banana bread is the first thing that comes to mind when I swirl this beauty in my snifter. It's nutty and warm smell fills my nose with anticipation!

Like I said in the beginning, it's Beer Candy...sweet, gooey and yummy! Who knew beer could taste like this? Again the bananas come through with a nutty finish and not a hint of bitterness. I don't even notice the high ABV.

Dancing and swirling in my mouth, this beer is a gem. A quick burst of carbonation takes you from the edge of "too sweet" to right on.

I find this nectar highly drinkable, but I must temper that with the fear of the high alcohol content. This could be dangerous.

Bottle dated 25 04 16 at 45 degrees into
Aroma fruity
Head average (4 cm), white, fizzy, rapidly diminishing to 2 mm layer
Lacing spotty, few small irregular islands of small bubbles
Body light yellow, hazy
Flavor light and somewhat fruity with no distinct fruit flavors. No alcohol, no hops, no malt, no diacetyl. Ends quickly.
Palate light, watery, very lively carbonation

Very champagne-like, nice aroma, average appearance, not much flavor, nice palate. This was part of a St. Bernard mixed pack.

Belgian ale is still a style I'm fairly inexperienced in, and I've never knowingly tried a Tripel before. I definitely intend to try more Belgian beer in the future, because this stuff is really good!

It poured a pale to golden body with a finger of white head. The aroma was zesty and fruity, with hints of orange and lemon

It tasted mostly as I would expect a Belgian beer to taste based on my limited experience, low on hops but very malty and full bodied with moderate carbonation. As with other Belgian beers it is deceptive: you wouldn't guess it had a higher ABV.

All in all a great beer. I must explore more Belgian beer in the future.
