Poured into a 14oz tulip glass.
Pours a deep reddish-brown with a moderate head the dissipates slowly.
Smells of alcohol and dried fruit with a moderate amount of phenols and esters.
Tastes of black cherries, raisins and plums. Not much yeast in the flavor. Alcohol is moderately strong.
This is probably the heaviest dubbel I've ever tasted. Malty stickiness dominates, but the champagne-like carbonation balances it out.
This is not a dubbel to drink in the Summer... more of a Fall/Spring beer. Not as easy to drink in succession like the Pater 6.
