I just got this one today in the St. Bernardus sampler pack. I just picked it up randomly not knowing the style and tried it.
A- Pours out nicely, small bubbles. The color is brown with a little bit of a reddish tinge to it when held up to a light. Hazy. The head is off-white and lingers as a pillowy-soft cap.
S- Not much there really. Malt notes come through the most. A little bit of the signature belgian "peppery" notes come through. No hop nose, no esters; minimal diacetyl present.
T- Caramel malt flavors are the first to come through. Those are followed by the signature belgian "funk", but only slightly. It's just enough to let you know that you're drinking a belgian dubbel and not a english sweet brown ale. A little tinge of butterscotch comes through after a couple of sips. The aftertaste is bitter, but not overly so, just enough to stave off any cloying sweetness. Overall very pleasant if forgettable.
M- Slightly effervescent on the tongue, but it quickly gives way to a nice light body. Not a heavy dubbel by any means.
D- Due to the light nature and relatively low ABV, this is one of the few dubbels I could see being a potential session beer. It's not the best dubbel I've ever had by any means, but it's very pleasant. If I was trying to get someone into belgian beer that has little experience, I would definitely recommend this one to them.

Pater 6 pours a cloudy amber color with no head. There is a very dry and very sweet aroma, with some dry grape almost wine like notes. The taste is dry and very very sweet, with some grape notes, and has a wine like flavor. The flavors are good and strong, but very flat feel. Overall its nice, but very very sweet, and too sweet for me.

Bottle dated 14 03 16 at 50 degrees into snifter
Aroma of fresh bread which gives away to a heavy malt odor
Head average (4.5 cm), off white, frothy, slowly diminishing to 4 mm ring with center island
Lacing poor – a few irregular islands which slide back down to the ring.
Body dark brown, hazy from yeast from the pour
Flavor starts with heavy brown sugar and over-ripe date sweetness which slowly fades to an unpleasant sourness
Palate full, syrupy, lively carbonation
This tasted pretty decadent until the terminal sourness rolled in. After that, it was a literal bad taste in the mouth.
