Best before 16 06 11, so I'm guessing this is still good?
Had it on the counter a while, but it was a gusher. Pours a deep copper, fairly clear, with a luxurious, creamy, dense cream head that lingers. The sediment in the bottle is dense and makes the beer murky.
Raisins, plums, rum-soaked dates, and pear form the initial aroma, with bruised green apple and dark Belgian candi sugar adding complexity.
Flavor follows suit, with a backbone of deeply roasted, caramel corn-like, toffee malt supporting esters of bruised green apple, pear, raisins, and dates. Truly a flavor explosion!
Body is fairly full and incredibly creamy, with minimal carbonation and light alcohol warmth.
Wow. Just a hell of a complex beer, with great esters supported by a complex malt backbone. It's Belgian at its finest.

11.2oz bottle poured into St. Bernardus goblet. Aged, with a 18-12-14 best by date. Pours a murky brown color with a lot of sediment. A medium sized head that dissipates to a thin crown with some lacing left behind.
Smell is of caramel malt, clove, and yeasty with dark fruit esters.
Taste is heavy on the malt and dark fruits, mainly plums and figs. A good amount of spice from the yeast and a bit on the sweet side, but not overly, nicely balanced. Mouthfeel is medium-light, smooth and creamy.
Overall, an excellent dubbel. Easy drinking and delicious.
