Yeast-hazed peach, this sits approachably with otherworldly lace. Extra-credit is due for the full-package effect of a beer sitting in its proper glassware.
Nose is yeasty, prickly, with citrus, pepper, and zippy zing. Enticing, clean, and goes to show how important freshness can be, even in a style that allows age.
Taste manages a perfect tightrope walk between sweet and dry, resting at each point but never touching down in either. Just perfect, and what Im looking for when I reach for a Belgian-style beer: neither overwhelmingly candi sugard up or aggressively carbonated. This is fruity in a similar way to gorgeous DIPAs.
The syrupy mouthfeel here could be a downfall, but as mentioned it isnt onesided or here-or-there. Dry, spice-kick hoppy and yeast keep the package desirably drinkable, unquenching, addictive.
Only had 11.2 oz, but more would be graciously welcomed. I find that go back for more reflexes are rarely used for Belgian-styled beers, but I prefer this one to even Rochefort, surprisingly.
