12 oz bottle, best before 04 05 07, reviewed in Feb 2007.
Pours a creamy one finger off-white head over a coppertinged golden body. Head has excellent staying power and leaves gently stratified sheets of lace all the way down. Aromas of straw, earth, mild maltiness. A crisp spicy pepper flavor seems to dominate the flavor, although a bit of soft malt and a caramelized sugar is detectable underneath. Medicinal and herbal phenolics throughout. Admirably dry with little residual sweetness. Crisp, yet chewy and soft mouthfeel. The abv is well hidden.
A decent triple. A bit on the spicer side be it from hops or actual spices, Im not sure. Plenty of funky Belgian yeast aromas and flavors too.
