Chilled 33cl bottle poured into an open (westmalle brand) chalice.
Pours out to reveal a dullish amber hue with a yeast haze finish. Head is full and thick with quantity slightly above 2 fingers and impressive amounts of sticky lacing.
The aromatic spectrum is dominated by fruits with a particular emphasis on citrus. Whilst this is common amongst several Triples, this one is made up of very lively and fresh notes.
Hops characteristics make a strong appearance in the mouth but once again its those lively fruit elements that give this Tripel its own unique taste. Dry grainy yeast has a bit part n the overall mix but its largely hops from the sticky and chewy beginning until it dries off with alcohol.
I'm new to the St Bernardus range and can say this and the quad are some very fine beers
