What a great tripel. I think St Bernardus is one of the best breweries of the classic trappist style, even though they are no longer actually a Trappist beer.
The balance of this beer was excellent. Big, fruity and yeasty all in very good senses of those words. As expected from the style, low IBUs. I can't say enough good things about this beer, I need to get a keg of it.
My only gripe was that the head size and head retention was over the top. I had to pour it in two seperate well oversized glasses (and this was carefully pouring down the side of the glass) and wait close to 10 minutes for it to settle. No big deal, and perhaps necessary to the style.
Note this was from the 750ml bottle, have not tried the 11.2 oz.
