Easily the best homebrew store in Dayton. Darren is extremely helpful in gathering ingredients, even if special order. He also takes an interest in your recipes, helping to develop and refine them to their fullest potential. They are open very convenient hours to allow for that last minute pick up.

I've noticed they carry almost every White Labs yeast in the repetoire, as well as the best selection of hops in the entire area. They have online ordering capabilities as well if you can't make the drive over.

I haven't reviewed many homebrew shops, but I'm starting my homebrew journey shortly and I've visited a few in getting ready to begin.

This store looks like it caters to more seasoned homebrewers as opposed to the beginner.
There are a few "kits" for starting out, but not really much in terms of options.
They only have 3 burners displayed-- and I can understand that burners (and boil kettles for that matter) are large and potentially expensive items that take up much room and financial assets.

The nice thing was the wide selection of malts, hops, and yeasts. It was impressive, and prices were about right in line with other places I've seen.

They will grind the malts for you, which is also a plus.

The absolute best thing about this store is its proximity to the to the best liquor store in Dayton. I would LOVE to run here for homebrew supplies, if only because it would give me an excuse to pop in next door to see what's new!

The place is a small shop, right next door to one of the best beer stores in Ohio, Belmont Party Supply. They have a very good selection and Darren will help you with putting recipes together and ordering supplies that he doesn't always keep on the shelves. They frequently host different brewing classes and other events. Also sell wine making supplies and a limited selection of glasses. Prices seem to be right in line with other places I've checked. I choose to continue to shop here because of the great customer service, that means a lot to me.

Surprised I'm the first one to review Brewtensils as I have been meaning to for a while. Now that it has been up and running for some time, I think the organization has been brought up helping the place altogether. Constant updates by e-mail are available as well as the ability to order products that they may not have in at the time. Service is excellent, friendly, and knowledgable as the staff are avid brewers as well as judges (as they also hold BJCP certified judging events). Bulk grain buys are available at one point in the year and you can pick up some wine and cheese making supplies as well if you are interested.
