Taproom at brewery. Color of hay with white head. Aroma of hops, clove and honey. Tastes of honey and cloves with slightly bitter hops on the backend. It’s a decent beer. (172 characters)

served on-tap @ Alcove, Tuscaloosa, AL, into a mason jar

Pours a somewhat cloudy shade of mustard yellow. Absolutely no head to speak of on this beer. None. Maybe that's just the bartender's doing, so I'm keeping the score neutral here.

Streetcar brings solid Kolsch aromas to the plate. You've got your pleasant maltiness, your fragrant apple, your sugary-sweet yeast characteristics (not quite the bubblegum of German wheat ales, but close). The flavors are even better than the aromas: enough hop/yeast astringency to balance out the juicy apple and sweet, doughy grain flavors.

This is a solid, refreshing Kolsch. I'm glad it's an Alabama beer, because it's a great choice for these humid summers. (711 characters)
