The vanilla flavor of this porter is rather artificial and unpleasant, remniscent of chemical additives. Honestly, it reminds me a lot of Leinenkugel's vanilla porter.

From a can. Black color with beige head. Smells of roasted malt, chocolate, and a little vanilla. Medium body. Tastes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and a sweet vanilla finish. A little on the sweet side, but otherwise good.

Canned 1 year ago, roughly. 8/11/17. Purchased a single in Huntsville, AL at a corner liquor store. Served in Crane snifter.
Dark coffee black, with a nice fluffy 2 finger beige head. Awesome lace as the glass as swirled.
Aroma is milk chocolate, dark chocolate, vanilla beans, and slight coffee. Very sweet, mouth watering.
Flavor comes forward with coffee first, then milk chocolate syrup, with vanilla creamer. Marshmallow. Vanilla wafer. Slight pirouette. It's almost too sweet, it leaves a lasting chocolate syrup quality on the palate. Slight roastiness on the finish.
Very nice carbonation level, with a great roastiness. Drying roast on the finish. Medium bodied.
Overall, very impressed. Wasn't expecting much, especially for a year-old porter. This surprised me and the only thing I can say about it is that it comes across too sweet. I think if this were put in a nice dry whiskey barrel you could really have something special here.

This is one of the best beers to come out of Birmingham. The vanilla is subtle, but I would like it better if the vanilla was a bit more detectable.

Loved this smokey, smooth, gentle porter. The vanilla came through in the nose and the finish.

Poured into a pint glass it has a foamy light beige head of half an inch and a black body. Smell of heavy vanilla, some caramel, cocoa, and slight roasted malt. Taste is lots of vanilla, chocolate, coffee, marshmallpw, some roasted malt and a bit of caramel at the end. Mouth feel is full with a moderate body and carbonation. A easy drinking very well made vanilla porter.
