Picked this up at a small drink shop in Belgium. Dark mahogany pour with a two finger beige head with nice retention and lacing. Really nice coffee notes dominate the nose along with hints of cocoa, subtle dark fruits, toffee, and caramel. The taste follows suit with some unique coffee flavor taking the lead. Hints of black cherries, cocoa, milk chocolate, caramel, and brown bread. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with great balance, huge drinkability, and a nice dry finish. Overall, this was a pleasant surprise from a brewery I had never heard of. Very unique as I've never had a coffee beer quite like this. Will definitely seek out more from these guys.

Brown color with a bit of tan foam. Aroma has some bright stonefruit notes, fermented fruits and brown sugar. Taste has some stale caramelised malt notes, dusty yeast, fruity notes on the finish. Light body with medium carbonation. Quite stale and generic.

Coffee beer with "Java coffee of the Finca La Pila from Guatemala".
Pours very dark brown, rich creamy tan head with very nice retention.
Smells very chocolatey, some cherries in there too, apple, raisin, plum, vanilla, spicy yeasts and sweet coffee, not too strong and acidic, but flavourful.
Taste starts with caramel and milky chocolate, very tasty, riddled with raisins, bit of sour cherries and faint banana chips. A mild dark breadiness and some nice spices follow, touch of cinnamon, faint clove and vanilla, bit of peppercorn. Gets a bit darker towards the finish, showing off the nice coffee notes, not too robust, but subtle and rich at the same time.
Very smooth to drink, with a low carbonation and a medium fluffy body. Alcohol well hidden, aftertaste of coffee bean, some bread crust and faint dark chocolate, sadly no fruit.
A really nice pairing, coffee really elevated this dark ale, but it isn't the star of the brew.
