This beer destroys other beers in the same category... I'd take this over PtE.

my kinda ipa. not too big, not too light, and loads of fruity hop goodness. golden hued ale with a small, but persistent head. enticing aromas of peach, mango, and perhaps blueberry upfront, plus more tropical fruits and just enough of a malt backbone to round out the flavor and bring the brew to 7.2%. the fruit notes linger but the beer finishes dry. bitterness is moderate and refreshing. i would certainly drink again. and again.

22 ounce bottle poured into a Sierra Nevada Hop Tulip glass

A: Light orange with a white head, nice lacing, the head is very creamy looking, fairly clear, the head stuck around while I enjoyed the beer, nice appearance.

A: Not a big aroma on the nose, nothing outstanding, doesn't smell bad.

T: Bitterness, some piney flavors in the middle, some slight citrus flavors at the end, finishes piney, citrusy, not lots of bitterness, but the bitterness is more prevalent than the other flavors.

M: Medium mouthfeel, dry.

O: Not a bad IPA but the bitterness is the most prevalent characteristic. I like my IPAs with some citrus, piney, tropical characteristics that are more prevalent than the bitterness. I am no IPA expert but this lacks some balance, it's not a big bitter beer but it needs more citrus piney tropical characteristics. Much better than Blue House but there are better IPAs out there. A quality beer worth a try, one I may revisit.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Crystal clear perfect bronze orange. Fine microscopic carbonation, slowly rising to a solid four finger and very creamy whipped retention head. Billowing cream in the glass as it clumps with round edges and hangs real impressively. Falls a bit fast but still a real amazing looking beer.

Real fantastic aroma and bouquet. The hop angle jumps to floral notes, really perfume almost rose petal like sweetness as well. Floral and aromatic, without a big in your face rush. Some cotton candy like senses and a big juiced sensing tropical fruit note, almost sappy and thick. Really really impressive, almost feels like a trip to the candy store. Loving it.

Palate hits wonderfully. Mid palate comes with a mild big juiced mouth coating, borderline thick thinking taste, but not anywhere neary syrupy, and actually strangely light. Honey aromas come with a pepper and wonderful floral notes and mellow spruce like bitterness. Juiced thick, with a tropical and green melon notes. Real spicy sensation in the mid palate with not much aftertaste except a lingering mellow dry hop aroma that nearly gets menthol. Some sweet simple malts round it out, and some good sweet oily coating on the lips.

An absolutely killer brew, this really hits well for me and pushes all the right buttons. Some improvement possible but really splitting hairs, and honestly… don't change a thing.

I was recently sent a few West Coast IPAs in my first beer trade. The others I had heard of and knew of their reputations. This one, however, was a wildcard. Comprised of 100% Mosaic hops, this IPA is beautiful. Not to mention it was bottled less than 10 days prior.

Initially it poured a darker color than I was expecting, with a medium-size head that dissipated quickly. On the nose it strikes up a very fruity AND oniony aroma. The label reads "tropical notes of guava and ripe mango." I can see that. Those notes didn't jump out at me, it was more of a very round and "white" flavor if you will.

I let myself waft this one in for a while before I took my first sip, and I was still thrown off guard. The "high" notes of fruit were an initial bite on my palate, and the aftertaste was more reminiscent of a more malt-based IPA. The mouthfeel is fantastic on this one. Lingers around just enough to tease another quick sip, but after a few moments you're content with it on your tongue.

Overall a really delicious balanced IPA, and as far as I'm concerned I'm surprised I haven't heard of it before.
