Thanks to Orthodoxkardia.

22oz bottle. Pours a dark mahogany color with a 1/2 inch of head. Good amount of lacing. The aroma is of tropical fruits and sweet pine. Some caramel and sweet bread notes. The taste is more of the caramel and sweet wheat bread with some piney hops. Hints of tropical fruits. More pine in the taste than in the nose. Resinous finish. Heavy mouthfeel. Slightly oily. This one had a lot more tropical fruits in the aroma than in the taste but it still works well. A lot maltier than it smelled. Overall, solid Imperial.

Brought a couple bottles of this back home from my Rose Bowl trip. Go Spartans!

A: transparent copper amber with a finger of beige foam. Good legs and lacing

S: lots of tropical fruit and pine

T: hop flavors follow the nose but the malt really asserts itself here and very nicely. Tastes like a flavorful base malt with enough crystal to be noticed but not overdone

M: a very rich thick feel with medium carbonation. Really takes it's time to dry out on the tongue, but it does get there

O: a terrific DIPA. I hope is brewery is very successful and one day distributes to Chicago. So glad I brought this home.

From 22 oz bomber to nonic pint glass

Solid double IPA from another promising West Coast start up. Big piny bouquet with a refreshing balance of bitter hops and a big malt backbone. Spicy hops that yields slightly tropical nuances against honey sweet malts. Short, clean finish. I'd definitely hit this again.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle into an Allagash cervoise glass.

A: Pleasant, fluffy, white head. Clear amber-gold, lightly effervescent.

S: Juicy! A whiff of onion from the Simcoe, but mostly it's fruit-forward and malty-sweet.

T: Oh yum! A well-balanced, pleasant, easy-drinking IPA. There a lot of hops here, obviously, but they are actually somewhat subdued, and the intense bitterness is subtle. Herbal, lightly spicy, lightly fruity, heavy malts anchor the flavours.

M: Solid and smooth. I would have liked either a touch more carbonation or dryness, but at least the hoppy bitterness lingers pleasantly.

O: Recommended! I've liked everything I'd ever had from El Segundo.
