375 mL poured into a tulip.

Pours deep amber with a raspberry hue and very little carbonation.

Smells like raspberry jam. Tartness is there but doesn't dominate.

Heavy on the jam flavor. Raspberry and some lemon-y finish. Almost achieves a pie crust flavor on the finish. 4.25

Tart but not overwhelming, light and vinous with a fuller, creamy finish. 4.25

Tasty, tasty and so easy-drinking.

2017 / 2018 vintage

Pours a clean, clear amber with a hint of purple. Head was fizzy and short-lived. Overall, this is a really nice looking beer.

Aroma is spot on for what I look for in a beer like this. Lots of earthy funk complemented by the blackberries.

This somewhat reverses on the tongue, with the funk complementing the blackberries. It's (appropriately) not too fruit forward, but you can still clearly taste the blackberries. Light and easy drinking.

Overall, this is a well done beer. I tend to enjoy spontaneously fermented beers, as they are rarely boring, and never quite the same. This one is no exception. Easy to drink, tasty, and different. I'm a fan.

Copper to brown with excellent clarity and no discernible head. The aroma is of brettanomyces and tart blackberries. I’m tasting a very tart brettanomyces and blackberry combo. The mouth is moderately carbonated and very dry.

A 750ml corked and caged bottle, with a neck label of 2019-2020, and a best before date of 28th January 2030. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.

Appearance: A very nice orangey pink colour with a one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly to a ring around the glass, while leaving only some sparse spotty lacing.

Aroma: Blackberries, oak, light funk and tangy spritzy lemon zest.

Taste: Lightly sour, blackberries, blackcurrant, oak, lemon yoghurt, light funk, lemon zest.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with soft to moderate carbonation.

Overall: Really easy and enjoyable to drink. Aroma and flavours were smooth and light but extremely balanced, with good fruit, strong oak and light funk.

12.7oz bottle of the 2020/2021 vintage. Best by date of 26/01/2031. My only complaint about this beer is the very low carbonation but that is probably due to its young age and has not had enough time to refermented in the bottle. Plum color with virtually no head. Aroma is very funky. Funky cheese, barnyard, berries, and wood. Flavor of blackberry that is tempered by the funk. Very slight vinegar with mild to moderate acidity. As I mentioned earlier very little life in the beer and that hurts its overall impression as I think some carbonation would of lit up the palate more.

750 ml corked & caged bottle, vintage 2017-2018, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.0%. 260 grams of blackberries / bramble per liter of lambic have been used for this vintage. Slightly hazy peach to red colour, small off-white to pink head. Aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, lemons and oak, also unripe blackberries. Very sour flavour, notes of lemons, brettanomyces, oak and unripe blackberries again. Tart and moderately astringent finish.

Pours a light fizzy head, mostly clear cranberry to cherry red color

Nose brings great funk, barnyard funk and sour acidic funk, a bit grassy cheesy funk, typical Tilquin greatness of funk, fair red berry like fruit, brambleberry, even a hint of sour cherry like, splashing the funk brings more berry fruit and general funk

Taste fair funk, cheesy barnyard funk, sour acidity, fair acidity with tartness in general, but seems a touch watered down for some reason, some fruit, red berry, bramble, but hard to pinpoint it as blackberry, even a bit of like a tart cranberry character, funk brings more fruit, general berry, fair flemmy finish

Mouth is med to lighter bod, a little flemmy with bright acidity, med to lower carb

Overall very nice beer, a good gueuze like but maybe a touch watered down and fruit was not a ton, but still a great beer

Served from the bottle in a Jackie O's shaker pint glass.

Pours a clear cranberry juice (okay, a bit on the orange-y side compared to, say, the good stuff from Trader Joe's) topped by maybe a finger of dirty white foam. The nose comprises loam, shiitake, funky wheat, burlap sack, and some mild blackberry. The taste allows the berries to come forth a bit, but the funk is still rather strong, and everything feels like it's been poured over river rocks. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying, sticky finish. Not gonna lie, the overbearing funk on this one didn't sit right with me (nor with VDubb, with whom I shared the bottle), drowning out the fruit without adding much in the way of pleasantness.

Bottle, 19-20 season.

The nose has a lot of the classic Tilquin funk, earthy and mushroomy with preserved lemon with mild blackberry notes. Moderate oak. The palate opens tart and sour with a blend of preserved lemon, key limes, mushroom, earth. Blackberries are present, floral, fruity, mildly tannic with vanilla and oak. Minimal seed character. Medium light in body, great fruity finish.
