Oude Gueuze Tilquin à l’Ancienne (6.0% alc/vol) is a spontaneous fermentation beer, produced from the blending of 1, 2 and 3 years old lambics. It is unfiltered and unpasteurized, and refermented in the bottle for at least 6 months. The lambics used were fermented and oak aged in our installations. These lambics are coming from worts brewed by Boon, Lindemans, Girardin and Cantillon breweries.

2011/2012 Vintage bottle

A- Golden orange with a slight haze, nice bubbling, some lacing, nice white head
S- Lemon, tart, slight funk, maybe some hibiscus
T- Surprisingly sweet, sour taste comes afterwards, a bit brie chees-y on the palate at first
M- Refreshingly crisp, semi-dry, carbonation becomes lower after time
O- Really great representation of the style and the bottle is affordable on a part-time work budget. Would like to find another one to age.

375ml bottle

A: Dark golden body with a ton of haze. Floaties settle at the bottle. Head for days.

S: Funk. Cherries, sour apple. Oak. Very nice.

T: Follows the nose pretty well. Delicious waves of sour notes and oak.

M: Bubbly. Heavily carbonated. Fits with the style.

O: Fantastic beer. Wish I could find it around more.

One bubbly beer with a pale yellow color. One clear beer (light passed right through it).

Smelled pretty funky: vinegar, apples, pear, figs

Fizzy, light mouthfeel.

Taste of pomegranate, sour cherry. Sweet and sour flavor.

Overall, very funky beer with an unusually high drinkability (pricey, but worth repeating).
