Batch 2, 2012-2013, 375ml bottle into a wine glass. Best Before: 29/01/2023.

A - Pours a beautiful hazy pink grapefruit body that just screams pulpy fruit juice. A fingers worth of bone white foam fades into a thick edging that lasts quite a while. Swirling creates some gorgeous lacing but retention is low here. I was told the 750's carbed up a bit more than the 375's but this is looking pretty damn active to me.

S - Lemons, hay, funky cheese, and some stone fruit. The plums are very subtle here but they provide just enough fruitiness to make this stand out from the normal gueuze. Very brett heavy, I get just a touch of plastic on the end.

T - Super mouth puckering sour. Lemons, hay, plenty of funk, and some woody oak barrel. The plums are present in a light stone fruit juiciness but seem to be squashed out by the huge sourness. Its incredibly tasty, its just not as fruit forward as other fruit lambics tend to be. In fact it's extremely gueuze like. Mouth feel is crisp and lively.

O - This was a damn good fruit lambic. Incredibly sour and mouth puckering. I was hoping the plums would be a bit more noticeable but its still a really impressive beer. Glad to have a few more bottles to age up a bit.

Pours murky orange leaning slightly towards red. Small, thin, white head that dissipates quickly. Some lacing as well as legs.

Smell of barnyard funk, a hint of vinegar but not out of balance. Fruity, lemony, and a bit of oak. Wet hay and overripe fruit. Peaches and mango. Earthy tea aroma as well. Nice forest floor aroma.

Tart and fruity in the taste followed with tea-like tannins. Extremely juicy but dries out quickly. Super acidic with lacto and a bit of acetic, but still within reason. Earthy and oaky.

A bit under carbonated but not thin. Dry and tannic.

Complex and quite drinkable.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy light brown/reddish color lambic with a large foamy head with good carbonation. Aroma consists of tart a funky noes with some very subtle notes of plums. Taste is dominated by tart notes with subtle notes of plums with a light barnyard finish. Acidity level is well balanced with some oak notes easily distinguishable. Body is quite full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Enjoyable but I would have thought the plum notes would have been more pronounced.

750 ml bottle poured into Cantillon balloon. 2014 vintage.

Appearance is a turbid and murky ruby orange. Small one finger head settles rapidly to a small ring around the edge. I love the murky look of fruit sours.

Aroma is very lambic forward with horse saddle, wet hay, goat cheese, and light leather. The fruit is faint but gives off apple, pear, grape juice, and blueberry.

Taste brings brighter fruit flavors with citrus notes not present in the aroma. Tart lemon and clementine morph into red grape, tart young plum, and cranberry. Some apple cider vinegar and balsamic lactic notes come in mid palate aggressively. The funk notes get lost in the fruit and acidity.

Mouthfeel is light with carbonation on the low level of medium. A bit more carbonation would be nice but overall it's close to most other fruit lambics. Sweetness mid palate but drys out nicely on the finish.

A delicious, fruity lambic that doesn't quite showcase the plum fruit but delivers on other flavors. Two complaints, needs a bit more carbonation and a more assertive funk presence in the flavor profile. Other than that most all marks are hit right and drinks akin to a grape infused sour with tannic and bright fruit notes.
