On tap, poured into a sample glass. The aroma is bread dough and herb with overripe fruit notes that turns to bright, fresh fruit and caramel with dank and nut undertones. There's a slight haze to the orange-yellow hue that's topped by a dense, white head with light retention and mild lace. The taste is a blend of medium high sweet and medium bitter. The texture is oily with a fuzzy carbonation. The medium body has flavors of banana walnut bread with supporting notes of citrus and toffee. The finish is crisp with herb and caramel notes that turn to bitter grapefruit. The grapefruit sticks around in the aftertaste along with the banana walnut bread. It's a bit astringent and somewhat dry.

Appearance - Clear golden colour with massive streaming CO2 and a huge rocky white foam head. This beer really looks the part.

Smell - Hop and more Hop. This one is dominated by a tropical edge pineapple, grapefruit, orange and lemon.

Taste - To be honest this one has the exact same taste as the nose. First you are hit with the fruit which has mild sweetness and then the bitter element of the hop comes in strong. The grapefruit seemed to dominate the bitter side of things but to put a potentially long story short this beer tasted great.

Mouth feel - Medium body with plenty of tingle and astringency this beer had a good drying end.

Overall - the makers promised a beer that was somewhere between Lager and IPA and they delivered. I know Camden receive a lot of flack for being a machine made beer but lets be honest most of what they knock out taste pretty damned good. This one was no exception.

Was served in a can (with no glass) so unfortunately can't comment on the appearance directly. Though a white foamy head did froth through upon opening. Going off other pictures, it looks the part, for sure.

First thing I noticed was the aroma. Hop tastic.
Not to be outdone, the taste was full strength hops and citrusy goodness - bitter and light.
A slightly hard fizz (I guess that's the lager aspect) leaving behind the bitter fruits aftertaste.
But what a beer. Nothing like any lager I've ever tasted before. Much more like an ale. Can't wait for more!

Bright brass with mad crusty snow white shaving cream foam. 4
Floral, gooseberry, and lime curd nose - sweet + yummy. 4.25
Hay, breadstick + baguette crust, them sugared lemon rind, noble spice, and some honeydew hops. 4.25
Icing sugar comeback and tightening linger.
Crisp, light, touch of oil. 4

Magnum, Simcoe, Chinook & Mosaic

Crushes the concept - doughy malts, snappy finish, and hops that play both traditional and some fruit I’d have sworn were NZ but is probably just Mosaic playing chameleon. I wish they didn’t have to make 6.2% to get there coz it keeps it from being sessionable. But it sure is yummy. 4.25
