A - very hazy pale golden, tall white head retained very well leaving some lacing
S - dominated by a sour grainy aroma, light esters, some herbals, not the most pleasant smelling hefe
T - strange mix of toasted grain and nutty maltiness, mild spice note, some herbal hops, interesting and not your typical hefe flavours
M - light and well carbonated, a little prickly, finishes slightly tart and dry
O - not a top notch example of the style but still a worthy effort, it has a uniqueness to it and is definitely a great summer thirst quencher

Appearance - Pours a cloudy straw/amber hue with a finger and a half of dense foamy head.

Smell - Sweet grain/malt, yeast, touch of banana and clove, hint of spiciness.

Taste - Lots of malt character with a hint of banana/clove. Bit of spiciness as well.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Nice tingly bubbles.

Overall - A good entry attempt at this style by Wild Rose. Good aromas in the smell, though a less potent banana/clove presence in aroma and flavour. Excellent patio brew.

650ml bottle, quite a deep layer of visible sediment at the base. Another Southern Alberta landmark to twig my childhood travel memories - good on ya, Wild Rose.

This beer pours a cloudy, bright medium straw hue, with a teeming tower of tight, fizzy, foamy off-white head, which leaves a high-altitude stringy cloud pattern of lace around the glass as it genially abates.

It smells of sweet and sharp wheat malt, some mildly tart citrus peel, dry banana chips, subtle peppery spice, and a bit of earthy, green yeast. The taste is more moderated sweet grainy wheat malt, some gummy candy notes, soft banana/clove interplay, an almost aural yeastiness, and a very subtle weedy dryness.

The carbonation is a bit frizzy, but generally supportive in its primary lifting function, the body medium-light in weight, and agreeably smooth. It finishes wheaty and sweet, more fruity than grainy, the spice, banana, and yeast playing all nice with each other.

A rather simple, but nonetheless enjoyable enough hefe - no complaints, and I shan't endeavor to manufacture any. Also, this sure arrived at the ideal time of year - as the mercury settles into perfect summer temps, coinciding well with the solstice, a local-ish hefeweizen actually hits the spot for this wavering wheat beer believer.

650ml bomber poured into my Hefe glass 14/6/12

A looks like a murky pale orange with a big ass bone white head that grows for a minuet after pouring and takes its time falling, lots of spiderweb lacing well down the glass

S lots of bubblegum and banana with dry cereal faint lemon rind but also a little gym sock and just a little burnt match but it somehow works

T the yeast plays a good part in this one with a nice citrus punch, no gym sock thankfully but everything else is still there from the nose

M full for the color and well carbonated without being foamy, I think the aftertaste may be better then the smell and flavor somehow

O its a good example of the style but there's room for improvement, my bomber went down pretty fast do that says something

Good but not great but at over 7$ a bomber its a tough sell with some classic German examples on our shelves for less money. Perhaps the shitty weather this night is affecting my rating, drink under a hot sun and keep the seasonal brews coming Wild Rose!
