(Served in a 16-oz shaker glass)

A- This beer pours a hazy deep caramel body with a sticky beige bubble head that last for a good bit.

S- The dry caramel malt mixes with smoke and a faint band-aid hit that is not bad. There is a nougat note that grows with each sip and a yeasty apricot fruit ester in the finish.

T- The smoke note mixes with a caramel malt richness that finishes with a pungent flavor that lingers for a moment.

M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with a tight little fizz and no alcohol heat noticed.

O- This beer is interesting. It has a nice smoke flavor but it starts to take over all the other flavors and gets a bit tough to finish the whole glass. (681 characters)

Had a glass at the Kalamazoo Beer Exchange. Man, this beer is out there - a hybrid wheat-amber-pale ale. And I'd say it's well made beer at that. It had a strong balance of spicy, Euro-like hops with smooth bready, toasty barley and wheat with a share of caramel. Despite weighing in at 6.1%, but this beer is very drinkable and quite interesting. (347 characters)

Served in a pint glass at Small Bar-Division 05/03/12.

A: Served an extremely cloudy, dull amber color with one finger of dense white foam on top. Retention was decent with some random ropey lace left behind.

S: Bits of grassy hops and quite a bit of toasty/bready malt. This leaned pretty hard in the malty direction.

T: Pretty much as above with some spicy yeastiness during the middle that managed to keep things a little lively.

M: Drying roasted malt and a little peppery yeast.

O: I was hoping for something a little more "left field", but this was more middle of the road. Not bad in the least, just too safe. (621 characters)
