12oz bottle, hazy light brown colored body with a frothy, tan head that holds good retention & leaves chunky lacing. Looks more like a barley wine to me though. Aromas are fresh, earthy, citric, floral hops, backed by a huge dose of caramel, brown sugar, honey. Tastes are similar to aroma: loads of caramel, brown sugar, bready malt, honey, with earthy, citric hops, a bit boozy and hot, while bitterness lingers on. There is some diacetyl that is more noticeable as it warms. Once again, I'm thinking this is more like a hopped up barley wine. Mouth-feel is creamy, smooth, fullish body. Overall, I like this more as a barley wine. I was really excited about it, but I found it to be confusing as the malt profile is so strong. Decent complexity, just not a DIPA to me.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a standard pint glass.

Pours a deep copper color, with a thick chalky head and a bit of lacing. Lots of citrus, bread, malt, caramel in the nose. The palate is equally malty with sweet caramel, bread, biscuits and loads of hops: tropical (pineapple, mango) and citrus (red grapefruit, tangerine). Full and round mouthfeel with a proper amount of carbonation. A very tasty brew.

A - Pours a deep amber with a two-finger off white head. Light sticky lacing.

S - Aroma of citrus, honey, and bready malt.

T - Taste starts off sweet with honey and citrus. Some bready malts come through mid-swallow. The hops give the finish a nice bitterness.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Sticky & dry finish.

O - Not the best DIPA I've ever had, but still very good. Fans of malty DIPAs should definetly check this out.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Greenbush branded snifter

Pours a golden amber capped by a slight off white two finger head. Excellent retention, significant lacing. Tropical fruit, mango and papaya especially, floral notes round out the nose. The taste follows the nose initially, hint of caramel, the honey comes through midpalate, finishes with light grapefruit bitterness combined with light caramel and honey-tinged floral notes. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation, slick and silky. Very nice beer. More balanced than modern day hop heads might prefer; but a solid DIPA that more seasoned veterans might enjoy more.

This dipa pours a very cloudy deep amber color with a ton of sediment and an off white head that gives way to a nice film and lacing. The nose is rich and malty with some notes of spice and pine, maybe even a little west coast citrus. The flavor is deep and rich encompassing all the notes the aroma had foretold. This is a delicious beer only hindered by a distinct alcohol bite. This is a 10%+er and it does not hide it. I love a strong beer but not everyone will feel the same way. Id love to try this one fresher because I feel like it is meant to be so much more.
