While making my summer trip out west (from mid Michigan) I made a stop at this brewery. I tried their beer at the Kalamazoo Beer Exchange and fell in love with it. So I felt it necessary to make a stop since it was along the way.
Very cool vibes coming from this place, it was pretty hard to find for starters. When we entered the place the true scale of it kicked in, the place is tiny to say the least. They had a wonderful selection of beer for being a brewing that doesn’t even bottle yet, and their beer is pretty top notch. I decided to go with the beer I had already tired and I wish I didn’t cause it wasn’t as good as I remember it but still great. I wanted to try another beer but my friend were kind of wanting to get back on the road so we left.
The service was ok especially for it being so packed. The guy who seemed to be running the bar at the time was a bit of a jerk. I look pretty young and I don’t think he took me for a beer drinker, so he was kinda sending me and my friends condescending vibes the whole time we where there. Asking of if we are used to drinking high quality beer and stuff like that (generally not taking us seriously). That is really my only beef with the place.
Great place, hard to find their beer since they don’t bottle, so I would recommend stopping by if your close.

Greenbush is a favorite stop, but be prepared to wait. Even with the annex open, don't think you'll be stopping on the drive from or to Chicago and getting a quick bite. Especially in the winter. And like any busy restaurant, you could swear they're chronically understaffed. That said, it's highly recommended.

It is the best brewery and bar in a environment of great beer. A must stop for beer but beware it gets very crowded because popularity has been established. Bar atmosphere on one side of street and annex aka outside patio is on other side of street. #1 in sw Michigan

The place was incredibly busy, but be warned, this is treated as a "family" destination, so people are here with young children for lunch. The tap room has a large bar and walls completely lined with 1/2 liter glasses (beer club? nearly 800 mugs seems optimistic). Service was very attentive. Beer selection is limited to about a dozen beers, plenty for a couple of tasting flights.

Greenbush is a necessary stop on any SW Michigan brewery tour. It's in a great location, not far off the interstate. I dare say the food may actually be better than the beer. They sport some of the best BBQ in the area. The portion sizes are generous and prices seem reasonable. Beers are decent but nothing stands out. Service has been hit-or-miss but nothing so bad that it would keep us from coming back. On both our recent visits, the dining area seemed full of locals, including many just there for the food, which we consider a good thing.

The predictions from 2011 about this place making it are proving true. From a near-dive bar when I visited in 2012 to 2017, Greenbush has taken off. They expanded and upgraded the bar, opened up another across the street and it has a nice beer garden. They have probably tripled their capacity for production and people. (I have a theory that crafters grow faster in tourist destinations, but save that for later.)
I went on October 1 to get a flight at noon. On the side of the street with the beer garden, the line had twenty people ahead of me and not that many chairs. I took the easy route and bought some bottles to see if the wisdom of the years was setting in. A good porter, but the other two were below grade... particularly the Belgian which, admittedly, I get snooty about.
Locals tell me the place is usually packed during the season, and often in the off-season. While I don't have a particular thirst for the hoppy beers Greenbush produces best, apparently a lot of people have that thirst.

Fantastic place with amazing vibe. Great selection of their own brews on tap and really nice meat and cheese platters and a few other dishes. You will get full, but don't expect a huge variety of meals. Still, the meats are really nice and the platters are great for sharing.

Loved the vibe, beer quality has always been inconsistent in bottle but draft was excellent. Excellent service and awesome taplist. Make sure and visit annex across the street from taproom, where you can also drink and fulfill all your charcuterie needs.

Had tried a few of their beers prior to visit so I was pretty amped. Place is chill. Sat down on pation with a group of 4, and a 5th that came later. Waitress was very welcoming (and patient with our beer geek tendencies). Food was excellent. Pastrami to die for. Beers were good to excellent. Not a clunker in the bunch. Standout beers were: Remnant of Dragon Imperial Red IPA, Brother Benjamin Imperial IPA with honey, Monopolipa, and Star Chicken Shotgun. And across the street at the Annex, RAGE.

Stopped at Greenbush on June 4th on our way back to Chicago from Michigan. Very easy to get to, right off I-94 with decent parking on the main drag of town. This was my 3rd time at Greenbush and was pretty similar to past experiences. The vibe is always a big plus, friendly, not too loud, but always "happening", beautiful space in a cool old garage, though this past time the A/C was cranked up to the max on a cool 60 degree day, wasn't too pleasant. The quality is pretty decent, I've never been blown away by the beer at Greenbush, but it's certainly never offensive, solid stuff that is easy to drink. The servers work hard, but every time I've gone I've always thought another server was needed, service is typically slow though the staff is always friendly and as helpful as they can be. The beer selection is great always a wide variety of things availability across all styles, I think there were about 15 different beers on tap this past visit. The food however, has consistently been a bummer, the menu reads well, sounds good, but every time I've ordered something it's been either bland, burned or just unappetizing. This past visit we ordered a soft pretzel that was burnt to a crisp, and my club sandwich was rubbery and a chore to eat.
Verdict: I like Greenbush beer but their taproom is a let down. The prices are great for drafts and growlers don't seem too expensive either, but the food just isn't worth stopping for to me. I'll continue to pick up Greenbush at the store to enjoy at home, but sadly, I don't think I'll make a point of returning to the brewery soon.

Just a couple of blocks east of I-94, it is very easy access. I had the brisket sandwich and it was very good, not Texas quality, but extremely good for Michigan. The place was busy and our waitress was occupied by a needy table of twelve. Another waitress helped her out and ensured we didn't go dry. A little loud because it was crowded but we could talk at our table of four. The beer selection had something for everyone and I loved the Star Chicken IPA. I can't wait to go back.
