Place was packed at 2 on Wednesday. Came in to check it out and grab a flight. I sat at the bar in the main restaurant (not the annex). They beers on tap were a good mix of the stuff they bottle as well as some brewery-only. The flight price was a bit high a ~$12 if I recall correctly, but the pour size was solid. (315 characters)

So its right off the interstate so I had to stop. ..I mean it is a brewery right? So first off let me just say I'm not a fan of any of their beers however it's a great place to eat and the staff was awesome. Love the small town atmosphere with a addition across the street. I definitely will stop every time I goto lansing! Just for the food though. (352 characters)

Greenbush is a solid brewery with good tasting beer, friendly staff and great food. The annex across the street is a perfect addition; you can sip a beer while waiting for your table. Always a good selection of beers on tap and available for carry out. (254 characters)

Went here on vacation few years back, they had been open for a few weeks only and had 6 or so beers at the time. Great place to stop in if your nearby. (152 characters)

They always have something good on tap and their BBQ is ridiculously good. I highly recommend the BBQ sampler, especially the brisket. Greenbush has some of my favorite beers and it's been awesome seeing them grow up. From a small tasting room to the brewpub and annex they are today I can only imagine where they are headed next. A must for anyone traveling trough the area. It's right off the highway in Sawyer, MI. If you do plan on going I suggest getting there early as seating is minimal and it always fills up. (517 characters)

I swung by Greenbush on the way back from the 4 Elf party. By the time I got there I was burned out and tired from the bottle share that took place 12 hours ago! The atmosphere was great, server friendly and the food was amazing. If you ever go there you must try the Mac N Cheese with brisket. (297 characters)

This brewery is very eclectic and reminds me of the pre-prohibition era when every town had a brewery and every town had a ma and pa type of hardware store. The food is solid and their BBQ is highly regarded by many of the locals that I talked to. I had a sampler when I was there and a pint of Doomslayer which was awesome. They make some awesome beer and have a really laid back atmosphere that makes it so you don't want to leave. I will definitely be coming back again! (476 characters)

Really cool wood-and-industrial brick venue, ever-expanding, great service, incredible food, and - of course - amazing beer every time. The price point is a great value for the high quality beer and food. They have great flight options and taster-size pours. Many taps that rotate often. And truly, the food is awesome. Only unfortunate thing is that it is a bit out of the way, but it's definitely worth the trip. (414 characters)

Stopped here a few weeks ago and had a great time. They have a great selection of beers and the food is great. All reasonably priced. They do tend to get quite packed, which makes it a little difficult to get a table and a beer if you don't have a table already. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I will be returning for sure. (341 characters)

A surprisingly nice place for a beer and a sandwich in the middle of a very small town. Sit inside or out on the patio and watch the trains roll by as you enjoy a cold one. Their flights are a little pricy at $12, but on-the-other-hand they provide a very generous 6 oz serving for each of the beers. It includes five samples from their 'A' list and one from their 'B' list. Nice range of brews ranging from blondes to IPA's to Belgians. They had a great crowd on a Monday afternoon when I was there. Friendly folks and good beers. (531 characters)

This place is great. It's pretty sleepy in Sawyer so Greenbush is always packed. Their tap selection is good and I am always shocked at how good their beers are for such a small place. The food is astounding. I am not usually a fan of BBQ but loved it here. It's kid friendly which is nice when you still want good beer but can't find a baby sitter.

It's right off the interstate so definitely stop by if you ever have chance. (428 characters)

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, so of course the place was packed. But the atmosphere was great and it is such an awesome place to stop in and have a pint over some awesome food! Because of the timing and the crowd, the guys behind the bar were running like mad to keep up, but we didn't really wait on anything. The beer and food both came very quickly, and despite being slammed, everyone was very polite.

Since this place is right off the highway and close to the MI/IN border there was a nice diverse group of people from IL, IN, and MI hanging out or passing through. We had to wait maybe five minutes before some people gave up their spot at the bar to us and then proceed to stand and drink with us for a few minutes.

Their beer is very good and reasonably priced. Had a Dystopia and Brother Ben and I'd recommend both to anybody who likes craft beer. The food was amazing! Had the brisket mac and cheese and my mouth is now watering thinking about it. If you are passing through Michigan, you must stop off exit 12 on 94 and check this place out. (1,060 characters)

This is my third visit to the brewery but first review. The interior expansion is a good thing because there was barely enough room in the place for seating before the remodeling. Our group of three people had two samplers so we were able to taste all of the beers in the 'A' flight and two from the 'B' group. We graded them anywhere from an A- to a C minus, but overall the match works out to a B- rating. All of the beers were spot on for their style, but the grading varied depending on how much the beer WOWed us. This is a cool place and I'll return again. (562 characters)

Great experience from the start. Great decor. Food was really good. Beer was better. The service gave great advice. We really liked the C list of beers. They have a good selection of takeout beers. Location leaves something to be desired, but I will stop in whenever I pass through. (282 characters)

It is in a small town in southwest Michigan and is right off the freeway. Storefront is cute and there seems to be plenty of parking. When we walked in we were a little overwhelmed because there were a lot of people. Since we had the kids with us we almost left when all of a sudden this guy came out of nowhere and seated us. He was super friendly and gave us some history about Greenbush. We ordered a flight of 6 beers. I believe they were about 3oz each. They were all fresh and we enjoyed most of them. We ordered chips with blue cheese dip, wings, gumbo and pork sliders. Everything was really good, they aren't chintzy with spice. Our server was awesome even though they were packed. We will definitely return!! (718 characters)

We visited here on our little road trip. We left Chicago in the early morning and stopped here after going up to Virtue Farms first.

This place is great. We got there around 3pm on a Saturday and the place was packed. We wanted to grab food so we put our name on the list and waited 25 minutes. The time really flew by. We each grabbed a beer and wandered around.

Food was great. We had pretzels and cheese to start. Great cheap little appetizer and went perfect with the flights of beers.

I had the pulled pork for my meal. It was awesome. Great vinegary sauce and I ate it in a few bites.

Would go back anytime. (618 characters)

Stopped here 10-5-13, on our way to Traverse City for a week to celebrate our first anniversary. Got here mid-afternoon (Saturday), and it was busy! We were told it would be a 45 minute wait, it actually took 20 minutes to get seated. It was tough to get a beer at the bar, but we did arrive shortly after a rather large group. The place just seemed slightly under staffed, maybe 1 more bartender and 1 or 2 more waitstaff would help. Some people would call the place loud while busy, I didn't find myself having to shout but it was a bit noisy. I feel like that would be different during times which were less busy. The inside area looked to seat 40-50 people plus 20 or so at the bar. There were another 8-10 tables on the back patio and luckily we got to sit outside, it was a beautiful fall day!

Having had Greenbush's beers numerous times out of bottles, I was excited to try their beers straight from the source. To be honest, I was let down. They had 14 beers on tap (at least on the menu they had 14, we only tried about half that) arranged in 3 different price groups. I had 2 of their barrel aged offerings, BA Mr Hyde and BA Vanderbush and my wife had a flight of 6 beers, including Unicorn Killer (their pumpkin beer, total disappointment). I was underwhelmed with most of the beers I tried (the wife loved their Cream Ale, Traktor) hopefully it was just an off day for me...going to return here on our way home and sample more beer.

The service we received at Greenbush was excellent. The hostess was extremely friendly and found us at the bar to notify us our table was ready, our server was excellent also...service with a smile, even when I had her run to the bar twice to get me some carry out beer. Only downfall was lack of service at the bar, but it was extremely busy. The food here was good, typical deli food. My only grumble here, my wife wanted to change something with the sandwich she wanted but was told that it was pre-made. Little weird if you ask me, but so be it.

Overall, definitely a must visit if you are in the area. Not necessarily a destination though. Carry out bottles are sold here, and are a more economical solution as growler prices seemed pretty steep. I will definitely be returning! (2,232 characters)

A little small, and a little rustic gives it a nice comfortable feel. I am hearing that they are adding on and that should help with the crowded situations. I have only been there once due to the size restrictions but hear many good things about this place. (257 characters)

Visited in March 2013 on the way home from Founder's for the KBS release. I heard about this brewery through a beershare, the beer being Delusion. The first stout I've ever enjoyed was Creme Brulee a few years ago. Strong, heavy, vanilla. Delusion blew me away. I had to stop in and pick up a few bottles. The staff was very friendly and had time to talk here and there. The patrons enjoyed beer geeking with me. As soon as I found out Greenbush was distributing to Chicago, I had to get my grubby little hands on Anger and Brother Benjamin. The place is small and adequate. Not so busy, as it would seem this place is still not so known, and that really surprises me. Though I'm glad, they still had Delusion left. I really need to get another bottle. (752 characters)

Great atmosphere and service I would highly recommend checking it out, next time I would definitely try the food, it smelled great, the beer was great, and being able have free samples prior to buying a growler is great, also the "flight" of 6 6oz beers is a fantastic idea (273 characters)

A review from my visit to Greenbush Brewery on 7/19/13, a busy Saturday evening.

A: Very fun, laid back atmosphere, though the place was incredibly busy and crowded. My group of four asked to be seated and were told it would be about 30 minutes. Not many tables to sit and eat, a bar that seats 20-30. About 10 minutes later we were able to find 4 spots at the bar to sit and have a beer before being seated right at about 30 wait. It was pretty noisy, bar/restaurant is not large. Vintage look with hard wood, exposed brick, and old beer cans bottles sitting on random shelves throughout.

Q: From the food to the beer to the server, everything was top notch, clean and quick. No complaints here. Easy to find parking right across, though it appears we were the lucky ones as we saw many people needing to park a long way off and walk.

S: The server once we got seated was fantastic. The bartender was not very knowledgeable about the beers, at one point telling me one of the beers available for carry out was a coffee cream stout only to find on the bottle it says russian imperial stout. Not mad about that as I love an RIS, but the guys behind the bar should no the difference. One interesting thing is that they do not serve waters. The have a self-serve cooler w/ plastic cups if you do not order a drink.

F: The food was incredible. I ordered a smoked beef brisket and a salad. The salad dressing was a very full flavored ranch style w/ lots of interesting spices. The brisket was served with 2 sauces one was BBQ-esque, another was mustard-esque, but neither were either BBQ or Mustard, both really tasting and flavorful

V: Great place to stop and eat and have beer, food and drinks are very well priced, the only thing Ifelt was over priced was the beer flight. $12 for 6 pours, but you cannot get a pour from the class C beers. According to a small business owner across the street with that we chatted with after we had dinner, the place is packed all the time for dinner- Monday - Sunday. She said people are coming from all over for the beers. I would highly recommend coming to Greenbush for dinner and drinks, but be prepared for a wait, though its definitely worth it. (2,191 characters)

Beer selection is very good. Always more variety than in local stores, which is what I'd expect. Smaller 4-6 oz samplers available. Overall beer quality is excellent, but food options are limited. What they have is very good tasting, but nothing close to New Holland Brewery taste and selection. Prices are reasonable but atmosphere needs upgrading. (349 characters)

stopped in for lunch & a couple of flights while on the way to grand rapids. busy thursday lunch-time crowd for what appeared to be a sleepy town; felt bad for our server who may have been covering the entire floor by herself. great to see a very diverse group of patrons: young families to senior citizens. food was OK. music was a bit too loud 1) given the time of day and 2) for the inferior sound system. sampled 400 divine rabbits, red bud, distorter, dunegras, mister hyde, broken promises and ursus. impressed w. IPAs (broken promises & dunegras) which are very well done. the other styles, however, are lackluster. (622 characters)

Stopped in at Greenbush for a quick beer on my way from Kalamazoo to FoBAB in late 2012. It's a very conveniently 3/4 of a mile off US-94. There is a hotel located under a half mile away, which makes it nice for folks who want to spend an evening there.
The bar is located on a slow downtown street, next to another bar/restaurant. Greenbush was much busier than it's neighbor. The bar is a wide, thin shape with about 15 bar stools, and tables against the wall, providing seating for another 30 to 45 people.
I've heard people rave about their food, but unfortunately I was not in the mood to eat at the moment, so I passed. I had a glass of their Mr. Hyde on tap and it was absolutely fantastic. The vibe of the bar was very lively, and it appeared there was a mix of beer enthusiasts and locals that dig the place. It was bright from all the windows, and very inviting. They were well staffed, and service was fine. I will make it a point to visit anytime I am travelling the 94 between Chicago and the Zoo. (1,012 characters)
