Looks a bit like a wit; unfiltered, lemonade-like looks. Smaller head of soft, thin foam. Aroma is tart with hints of lemongrass with some light yeast smells, with some almost tea-like hops as well. Taste brings up a short burst of sticky hops, then fades to a drier finish with lingering hops rounding out the subtle malt bill. More pronounced IBUs than I expected, but nowhere near a hop bomb for the style. Body is medium-light, crisp and refreshing when cold.

Not a bad session brew, a bit too hoppy for what I'm looking for in a blonde ale. Glad I tired, but likely won't seek this out again.

From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #77 (June 2013):

LOOK: Hazed dirty yellow, decent lacing

SMELL: Fresh grass, herbal, sweetness, vague spiciness, nutty

TASTE: Very grass, smooth, semisweet, wet, hop oil, floral, mild esters, lemony, peppery, citrus rind, husky finish

A bit raw, perhaps out of sorts. Still a decent sip though. If this brew was cleaned up a bit, we’d be looking at a brew that would be “sessionable.” Great intentions here, and the 16-ounce can always works. This one just slightly misses its mark.

16 oz can. Pours hazy straw yellow with a thin white head that quickly goes to a thin collar.

The aroma is subdued - sweet bready honey malts.

The flavor is sweet honey malts with a light bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with very low carbonation.

Overall, uninspiring but not offensive.

Afternoon Ale seems like an apt title. It's crisp and bright with mild toasty malt and spicy hops flavors. This beer leans toward the bitterness, and there's a mild yeasty and fruity element to it. It reminds me more of a kolsch or keller pils than your average blonde. Fun beer. Have another.

Yes, another beer by way of the legendary woodychandler. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a pale yellow color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of malts, musty, a few floral notes. Taste is light, floral, malts, a touch of sweetness. A good thirst quencher but lacking a bit of flavor. Feels light in the mouth and overall, not bad, but nothing special.

16 fl oz can served in a weizen glass, reviewed live:

A - pours a pale straw golden color with a thin, fizzy white head. Retention is terrible. You'd be hard pressed to differentiate this from BMC on looks alone.

S - light lemon notes, stale pale malts and bready yeast. There's a strange acidic-vomit note that I can't get past. A really strange off note. I'm mot sure why I'm going to try this....

T - watery malt extract opens over stale yeast. Acrid hops and the same vomit off note close. Watery and poorly built. Has a tonic like taste. Simple and unrefined. I'm positive a novice home brewer can do better.

M - thin and watery. Flat.

D - I don't drain pour, but this is tempting me. Why the hell would you put this on the market? I'd rather have Coors to be perfectly honest. Avoid.

Poured into a shaker pint glass.

Look: A very hazy light straw yellow colored body holds up a frothy white head. Slow head recession leaves an eventual light film. Light random patches of lacing stay on the glass.

Aroma: This style, and more to the point -- this beer smells like wet breakfast cereal. There's a wet cardboard aroma in there with a touch of sweetness that may or may not remind me of honey.

Taste: Sweet and malty up front, and with a cereal grain thing about it. The hops seem to kick in here, whereas in the aroma not so much. The finish is slightly grassy and balances out the malty sweet beginning.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light in body. Goes down pretty easy.

Overall: Not outstanding, not bad. Easy to drink. They should have added some citrus zest and made it a summer ale, and it would have received a better rating from me. Otherwise pretty forgettable.
