Bottle label states the ABV as 7.0%.

Deep, copper-colored body with a thick, sticky, white head. Prominent coffee aroma backed with a sweet, caramel scent; roasted nuts. Flavor reflects what's in the aroma. Medium bodied; semi-dry finish with a bit of astringency.

A nice, well-balanced strong ale with an excellent coffee component. The coffee and hop bitterness lingers nearly endlessly after each sip. Smooth and easy drinking for such a big beer.

22 oz bottle. Pours light amber with a medium frothy white head that retains and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet roast coffee.

The flavor is sweet caramel malts with a lot of roast coffee and some bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, it's interesting - lots of roast coffee on a sweet caramel amber body.

22oz bottle purchased for $8.99. I was wary because I haven't really liked any of Renegade's package offerings but I have been jonesing for coffee beers lately and this one has Novo coffee. Its solid. very nice aroma of steeped coffee, fills your nostrils. Flavor is more coffee flavor without being bitter just tasty. This was a well done beer even though the coffee is pretty much all i taste and smell, fine by me as long as its good.

Had this at their Sunday morning release on April 29. Not used to drinking beer at 8:45 AM, but here are my notes....

A: Semi-cloudy/hazy, copper-amber in color. Half-finger cream/tan head dissipates quickly.
S: Toasty, coffee.
T: Sharp coffee, a hint of sourness at first....this evolved upon sitting-- toward a more mellow, roasted coffee and no sour at all.
MF: Crisp. On the more carbonated side. Not what I expected for a Strong Ale, but it works.
O: Solid. Not your typical coffee beer. I think of this being to Coffee what Boulevard's Chocolate Ale is to chocolate. Free yourself from the mindset that it should be a stout. It's enjoyable.

never had a coffee beer like this before. pours golden redish with a fair white head. doesnt look like a coffee brew at all, but boy does it smell like one. hot coffee smell with intrusions of caramel malts and alcohol. doesnt sound pleasant, but it really is. tastes less like a cup of coffee althoguh still distict. hops comes into play in the taste adding a bitter note to the sweeter malt. extremely unconventional beer, but very very good. low acidity for a coffee beer as well. well done for a new operation

A pale, golden amber beer with minimal head and ahuge, fresh coffee nose with touches of chocolate... and on the palate it's a touch stale and sweet. A bit thin and weak (watery) in the finish, I don't know if it's the ba, but calling any beer a barleywine at 6.8 is dodgy business, but this one in particular doesn't make me overlook the lacking. It's actually a fine, amber coffee beer, but I'm being a bit generous, too.
