On-tap at Beachwood Brewing
A: The pour is a clear golden straw color with a bog white head on it.
S: A nice maltiness to it with some bread and cracker notes. A little bit of banana notes, citrus peel, and a fair amount of spiciness. The spice is mostly white pepper but a few others I can't pinpoint.
T: A nice sweetness to the beer with bready and cracker malts. Light bananas with some citrus peel notes and a light bitterness. Some hints of fruits in there, particularly some pears and apples.
M: Light to medium in body with a medium to high carbonation.
O: A nice and easy to drink Belgian beer with good flavors. Quite enjoyable.

A: Amber in color with a pretty nice one finger cream colored head.
S: Fairly light aroma of pale malt and some clove. A bit of belgian yeast as well.
T: Pretty nicely done with some notes of clove, belgian yeast and bready malt. Slight hints of fruit in the back along with some faint grassy hops.

Light amber color in the tall tulip. Also light bodied. On tap at Blind Lady Ale House in San Diego where it was listed at 5.7% ABV.
Plenty of the Belgian bitterish funk. After you sip for a while the bitterness comes still more forward. Rather fragrant with apples and honey, like a Saison. Nice fruity flavors with a fairly big mouthful of malt.
It's rather plain and would be better with a touch more of tartness. Carbonation is about right for the style. Quite drinkable in the American pale ale sort of way.

On tap at Toronado for Beachwood night.
A: Burnished gold with a pillowy white head.
S: Bread and crackery malt. Hops are floral and grassy in character. I get a touch of mineral as well.
T: Pepper-like phenols are light. Belgian yeast provides tame bubblegum and banana notes. Malt is reminiscent of toasted bread and cracker. There's a light floral presence and a low bitterness.
M: Light body with lower high carbonation. The mouthfeel is dry.
Overall: A good Belgian single. I could drink a lot of this. Perhaps I will.

Pours a clear honey yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, citrus zest, spice, and yeast. Taste is much the same with a floral and spice aftertaste. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium boded mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is easy to drink due to some nice aromas and flavors.

On-tap at the original Beachwood and served in a tulip, on to the beer:
This Belgian Single is a dark golden, orangish color that initially provides reasonable head and good lace. It's a sweet and spiced nose, one dominant of candi sugar and clove. Not overkill though. In flavor, starts off with vague spice. Sugars and a kiss of pale malt sweetness work their way into the picture. Bubblegum notes echo around. Some bitterness kills off the overall sweet flavor and lingers in the aftertaste. Light-medium bodied moderate carbonation, but airy at times.
An acceptable Belgian Blond. This is made for those who like beers similar to Leffe, but a little more balanced and less syrupy.

On-tap at Beachwood II,
A: Pours a medium gold with a solid white head, nice lace.
S: Pear and yellow apple esters, some sweet malt.
T: Banana and pear heavy, with some nice bready malt. Nice mix of flavours.
M: Medium-bodied, crisp carbonation which is a little too biting for me in this style. Good heft.
O: Belgian single isn't a style you see very often, so I was happy to try this. Quite a good beer and well made.

Clear dark golden colour with a creamy but short lasted white head.
Good Belgian yeast character with just a hint of sweetness. Nice balance of spicy clove notes and plummy, vinous fruits.
Beautiful balanced yeast character with a nice dose of spiciness combined with a solid dark fruit flavour. I get a touch of tobacco as well.
Medium body with moderately high carbonation. Good.
A really solid Belgian ale with a nicely handled yeast character and some good malt character.
