Picked up a filled to the brim 64 oz growler of this yesterday, 4/28/12.

A: Crystal clear golden hued IPA. Smallish off-white head that leaves a trace of lacing in the pint glass as the liquid goes down the gullet.

S: Citra-centric aromas, i.e. heavy citrus and mango with some coniferous wafts mixed in.

T: Uniquely hoppy flavors begin their assault on the palate. The bitterness is somewhat offset by the malt backbone. A pleasure to quaff...slowly.

M: This is where Citraholic really excels: it finishes smooth and clean and the carbonation is perfect, less than 24 hours (or 1440 minutes as stated on the growler) after filled. On the website, it says it's double dry-hopped. You can tell.

O: I've tried the Melrose IPA and that was a more classic West Coast-style IPA. While I personally preferred that, Citraholic is unique, and a pleasure to quaff and savor. This IPA is a tribute to the diversity and beauty of hops.

Beachwood BBQ makes amazing beers, has the best of guest beer and pub food that puts other places to shame. If you live in Long Beach or Seal Beach: Congratulations!

Got rained out during my trip to Beachwood: closed on Mondays. Ok, a bottle from the local spot will have to do.

Smells like my baby mama when she comes home from Burke Williams - this thang is money. Taste is pretty solid, but kind of like said baby mama a few hours after coming home from the day spa - things are a bit toned down. That being said, this dang sucker still has plenty of citrus pep in its step.

Get on it my minions.

Will review from my bottle since the presentation wasn't very good when poured at BWBBQ-LB. Pours a medium yellow color, sorta dull probably due to a slight haze from dry hop, but glad it's on the more yellow side. Great head formation which floats atop the beer like a thinner version of beaten egg whites. The first aroma that bursts forward is an earthy/dank thing. More of a green character than a citrus or berry. Flavor is a spicy/earthy/green hop flavor with lots of bitterness that feels resinous. Bitterness hits you very quickly and lingers longer than I can remember of any beers I've had in the last couple years. Great lacing left on my (clean) glass. Mouthfeel is thin, but not watery. For me it's close to perfect for a 7.1ABV beer. I think the hop resins are helping hold up the body. In terms of Citra-forward beers, this one closer to Toppling Goliath PseudoSue (more 'green' character) than a Kern River Citra (more Mango/fruits).

EDIT: As beer warms up you do get a citrus rind flavor but nothing of that sorts in the aroma

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy orange body. Nice white head. Medium collar.

Smell - Citrus. Orange. Grapefruit. Lightly toasted malt.

Taste - Grapefruit. A little musty. Cracker malt. Not very sweet. Mild grassy bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Kinda bitter. Medium carbonation.

Overall - Tasty IPA. As the name describes, it's citrusy.

Grapefruit rind. Super declicious. To me, Beachwood can do no wrong. Another strong offering. DO NOT PASS THIS UP.
