From a 64 oz. growler,

A: Pours a light amber with a soft white head, some good lace.

S: Very ripe and dank Simcoe, pineapple, tropical fruit.

T: Nice notes of pine and pineapple, reminds me of a Sierra Nevada Pale with a twist. It's quite similar in a way to that beer.

M: Crisp, biting carbonation, refreshing, frothy.

O: A nice drinkable pale. Certainly in a dry style, but great for late spring.

On tap at the source. 100% Simcoe.

A: Pours clear, light orange/dark yellow with a thin (1/4") white head which fades to the rim leaving rings of lace.

N: Juicy grapefruit and citrus, floral and fruity, with an herbal/piney and earthy note.

T: Citrus with dank herbal and pine. Some catty too.

M: Semi-moderate body and carbonation. Dry and slightly bitter with a lingering oniony and herbal finish.

O: Easy drinking. The aroma and flavor stand out. Was told that Vinnie C. had no problem with the name and thought it funny.

First time trying this but have been a follower of Beachwood back when Gabe was plotting the future brewery. Nose is nice & herbal, reminds me of fresh cut grass but with a hop side. Bitterness is there but nicely balanced. Anyone looking for a "grab your epiglottis & shake it 'till you cry" IPA will be disappointed by this. S3B2 is very enjoyable beer, it doesn't aggress the palate but is still full of flavor, worth drinking any time.

Thanks to wethorseblanket for sharing his growler with me.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus and herbal flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with some solid aromas and flavors.

Made with Simcoe hops, has a grassy citrus character and nice zippy (full mouthfeel, pleasantly bitter) finish that comes across much smoother than the Alpha Deluxe we had alongside.

Quite possibly THEE Beachwood Beer back on tap last night for the release party of the Beachwood Seven!!

Gonna lay my bias out in front, this is my favorite beer Beachwood has done. Pours a beautiful gold color with nice half inch of fluffy foam. The aroma beckons you like a siren's song, its very dank with citrus notes. Taste is crisp and clean, extraordinarily hoppy, but not overpoweringly so. Malt tones are not really present at all except for a very light sweetness that comes through without any of the breadiness. I ended up getting three pours of the stuff. I really hope this is the next beer they bottle as it easily bests most other hop forward Pales.
