Visited last night to compare/contrast to the original in Seal Beach.

Top notch across the board. Menu was very much like Seal Beach, with some really unique offerings, although I went for the pulled pork sandwich on a pretzel role - delicious, and perfect with many of the beers.

The service was also quite good. My bartender (Dave?) was really knowledgeable about all things beer, and was giving some lessons to a non-beek sitting next to me.

There were 6 house drafts, and about 25 guest beers - mostly unique stuff from around SoCal, but also had Jolly Pumpkin and St. Bernardus Abt 12 on. I had Port's Feeding Frenzy, Telegraph Reserve Wheat, and Lawsons/Bruery Acer Quercus.

I was surprised to hear that they're "not allowed" to sell an empty growler... it's just a glass vessel, so that seemed fishy. Ponied up $20 for a growler of their Reckless Session Ale (refills are $17). That seemed a tad high for a low ABV house beer.

Overall, this place is larger than the original with more seating at the bar, but still not some impersonal beer hall / warehouse. They had extra staff on hand, and did a great job considering they've only been open for a week. Great experience overall. (1,196 characters)

This is your spot if you love IPAs and like some good food to go with them. Their IPA selection is top notch. They've recently had upwards of 20+ house-brewed beers on tap which is a good thing. Bottle selection is OK but it's really all about grabbing a fresh pint! (269 characters)

Visited June 2015:

This is a must hit if you are in the area. Great location, really good beer and good BBQ.

They must have had 15 or so tap and a cask (not in operation for my visit, but still worth noting). They were having a tap takeover the next night, which is pretty cool of them. A wide selection of style (I had an EBS, a Stout and a Kolsch). The food was really good, the meat was cooked to perfection and the sauces were just as good.

I will definitely be back the next time that I am even close. (515 characters)

This was a great find - h/t mayor.

BBQ was tasty AF. I had the brisket. The beers were all great. Our server and the bartenders were great. The only knock was the homeless guy outside threatening to fight several passersby. (227 characters)

Love Beachwood! The Long Beach location is a great spot to get a pint and some food. The tap list is pretty extensive, between lots of in-house offerings and guest taps. The food selections are pretty solid and the vibe is super laid-back and chill. The Long Beach location is much larger, than the original Seal Beach spot and can accommodate larger crowds and provides ample parking. (389 characters)

If you're in LA, you should definitely stop here or its much smaller sister outlet in Seal Beach. Great selection of homemade brews and visiting beers with top-notch barbecue. Long Beach location also a nice beer garden (219 characters)

Great casual tasting room with excellent food. They have more craft beer than their own beers, but have a nice selection to cover any mood. Third dimension and ANNihilator are very good. (186 characters)

Came here for lunch with the co-workers and for beers on my own later that day.
Great food, awesome selection of home-brand beers and a damn good selection of guest taps.
And the bottle list, which is good, isn't at all over-priced. Firestone Walker 18 for $28...that's retail!
Would have loved to stay longer but I was hellbent on finding bottles for sale...and I struck out.
Worth a stop in for sure. (404 characters)

Cool spot in Long Beach. Bartenders are all super friendly. Beer brewed on site is fantastic, and the guest taps typically contain imported sours. BBQ is KC style, and pretty solid. Must visit if you are in the LA area. (219 characters)

Great taplist both with their house beers, as well as a great selection of guest brews on tap as well. More than enough to choose from and everything is rotating with more than enough styles to choose from. Plenty of seating both indoors and out. Food is top notch barbeque for a west coast place, everything on the menu fits and is quite good. The service is nearly perfect, but a bit slow on bringing out the drinks. That is the only complaint I can possibly think of. (475 characters)
