Firstly, congrats to Gabe, Lena, and Julian for getting this place up and running.

I got out of work early today so I made the drive down to Long Beach to check out the brewpub for the opening.

This place is significantly bigger than the original location in Seal Beach which is an instant plus. A much bigger bar and more seating will help to keep more people happy.

I didn't eat on this occasion, but looks like the same food menu and the food smelled just as good as always.

A great guest tap list with tons of different Southern California beers, including some fairly obscure beers. And on opening day, five house beers were being poured. They were all solid, but I found the stout to be the best of the bunch.

Should be a great spot for years to come.

Purposely drove from the I.E. just to try the place out, based on having their beers at festivals, etc. Easy to find location with ample parking ($$) nearby. Large eating area with both in and outdoor options plus a bar for those getting a pint without food. Laid back vibe with large, readable signs for what was on tap.

Service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about the beers being served. Beachwood has a lot of their beers on tap plus some guest taps and bottle selections. While there were no special releases available the day we went, there was so much on tap, there was something everyone should like. I started easy with their Breaker Hoppy Pale and the wife went straight for the Udder Love Stout. Spot on great brews!

We ordered appetizers and regular food while we were there. Their BBQ sauces are awesome and food portions are generous/delicious. Lots to choose from and if you can't decide right away, order their chips and dip (excellent) while you sip a beer reading the menu.

Got to try all the IPAs they were offering that day plus all the stouts and porters. Not a bad one in the bunch. Beachwood is cranking out awesome beers and it's worth the drive from wherever you are to give them a try. Their IPAs are good enough that I passed on having a pint of Pliny while I was there (one of several guest taps that day).

This place is a must if you love beer. They have an amazing selection and everything they brew is out of this world. The Irish red is superb and so are all the stouts. I was really pleased with my food the 1st time I went there, ordered the char burger and it was tasty and the plate was descent sized. Second time got some bbq and the brisket was really disappointing. Meat was dry and flavorless, the sides were tiny but good.

This is your spot if you love IPAs and like some good food to go with them. Their IPA selection is top notch. They've recently had upwards of 20+ house-brewed beers on tap which is a good thing. Bottle selection is OK but it's really all about grabbing a fresh pint!

Visited June 2015:

This is a must hit if you are in the area. Great location, really good beer and good BBQ.

They must have had 15 or so tap and a cask (not in operation for my visit, but still worth noting). They were having a tap takeover the next night, which is pretty cool of them. A wide selection of style (I had an EBS, a Stout and a Kolsch). The food was really good, the meat was cooked to perfection and the sauces were just as good.

I will definitely be back the next time that I am even close.
