On tap at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.

Pours a slightly murky honey orange with a beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, yeast, spice, and slight wine and wood aromas. Taste is very much the same with a mild spice bitterness after each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a more subtle barrel aging that works well with the base beer. (522 characters)

On tap at Toronado in SF. Served at around 48-50 degrees F.

I haven't had much luck with Bay Area Belgian-style beers, but this one was definitely a worthwhile drink.

It was a brilliant, slightly hazy gold with a bit of a white head. Bubbles rose at a moderate speed and it left sexy effervescent legs on the side of the glass.

Smelled sweet with whiffs of bright fruit and brett.

The flavor was almost overwhelming, but totally balanced. A rush of everything I smelled plus some good tartness, finished off by a delicate but noticeable floral hoppiness. Left me feeling plenty warm on the inside, but the booze didn't burn.

I've gotten so used to simply spicy strong Belgians. This one does give other beers something to worry about. (740 characters)

Corked and caged 375 ml with a reluctant cork imprinted CBB 01.

A: Initial 1 finger bright white fine head over a hazy pale orangish yellow which leaves lace rings and smear. Quick swirls return a 1/4-inch foamy top.

N: Juicy white grape skins, spring flowers in bloom, fruits (pears and apples) along with some sweet notes and faint yeast.

T: Belgian yeast is present but not overwhelming or bold. Vinous with mild and subtle oak tannins. Complex fruit and understated spices.

M: Medium body and carbonation. Smooth and mellow. Semi-sweet and dry finish.

O: Chardonnay barrel character stands out nicely and plays well with the yeast and grape quality. Very enjoyable. (674 characters)

A - Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some nice lacing.

S - Aroma is a mix of some strong Chardonnay barrel character with some oak and white grape, alongside some Belgian yeast esters with farmhouse smells and a bit of spice coming through.

T - Starts off with some white grape and some Belgian yeast flavor with some light coriander and clove and a bit of Pilsner malt. Through the middle, some oak comes through alongside a bit of vanilla and some farmhouse flavors and a bit of tartness. The finish is a mix of white grape and other light fruits, oak, Belgian yeasts, and just a touch of booze.

M - Medium-full bodied with mild carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry, light estery, and warming finish.

D - Very drinkable. Really nice BSPA with the Chardonnay barrel aging really adding a good deal of complexity and depth to the beer. (927 characters)

Inflatablechair provided this bottle tonight... Poured into my HotD goblet... Foamy white head dies pretty quickly.. decent lacing.. slightly hazed golden brew.

Nose shows plenty of oak with pears and sweet apple essence.. a bit spicy.. light clove

Flavor is dry fruitiness with some heavy pale malt essence that doesn't actually add to the sweetness.. White grape and chardonnay notes really open up with warmth.. great barrel presence...

Surprising body for such a dry finish... good carbonation and fairly long finish.

I liked this one pretty much... and I am told it is going to be available for an approachable price.

Thanks a ton Sammy!! Cool brew... I will definitely buy as soon as it hits shelf.
