A sensual imperial stout brewed with love, chocolate and mandarin oranges. This beer had many complex flavor flavors. The chocolate and oranges add icing to the cake of mocha-like malty was...a creamy, cold, yet warning dessert in a glass.

Definitely an interesting experience. Lots very dark with no head. The smell is cacao with orange obviously. The taste is like a chocolate bar with oranges in it, which mixes nicely with the maltiness. Much more toasty than other porters at BI brewhause

8oz pour in tulip at brew pub.
Looks like an outer space empire stout man!
Smells exactly like a Lindt orange rind and dark chocolate bar. Ginger, orange peel, Cointreau, dark chocolate.
Boozy right off the bat and all the flavors from the nose. The Cointreau flavor is strong. Orange oil, dark chocolate. Super boozy as it warms, with an almost sickening alcohol bitterness.
Very thin body for a stout and the alcohol really shows as it warms.
It wreaks of booze at only 7.8% and the essence of orange only encourages it. The aroma is amazing, but the beer doesn't deliver.

Tall, Dark & Mandarin is the clear winner for the best beer I had while on vacation in Hawaii. Wonderfully rich feel with a perfect balance of chocolate and orange. Big Island Brewhaus is doing great things on the Big Island.

Poured on tap at the brewpub into a sampler.
Dark walnut brown body, quite opaque and some thin light brown rising carbonation. A nice light cocoa brown topped head presented. Leopard like scattered lacing while drinking.
Wonderful aroma. Large soft milk chocolate and dry cocoa powder dust with an almost sense of chili heat (there are no chilis). Hot bitterness. Slight zest oil of citrus but not getting orange as much, almost hop driven tropical or grapefruit. It is a wonderful smelling beer.
Palate brings the solid goods. Tasty dark chocolate and orange, one of my all time favorite flavor combinations. Chocolate dark rich, slightly silky mouthfeel but not quite. Popping aftertaste of hop and spice, supper creamy texture.
Fantastic brew.
