From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #77 (June 2013):

LOOK: Cloudy light amber, thick foamy lace

SMELL: Fresh berries, floral, hop resin, kiwi, bready, honeydew melon, clean alcohol

TASTE: Malty, smooth, big crispness, balanced bitterness, hop-forward flavor, prickly, citrus, dragon fruit, dried grass; semidry, long hoppy finish

Brewed with only “Pacific” hops, meaning from Australia and New Zealand ... Galaxy and Pacifica respectively. Really, really tasty with a kiss of hop flavor that sticks to the palate. More than interesting enough to keep us going, let alone that it is simply very drinkable; a good find if you run into this one.

Medium sized white head quickly settles to about a quarter inch then slowly recedes from there above a clear straw golden colored beer.

Light pleasant aroma with some soapiness to it, but it's main characteristics are lightly roasted sweet grain malt evenly blended with a lightly citrus style hops.

The taste is on the lighter side with the light citrus style hops becoming slightly more bitter than the aroma would have suggested and this has an overbearing effect on the lighter lightly roasted malts.

A lighter dryish aftertaste with some slight bitterness and the light soapiness present in the aroma makes a big comeback with the aftertaste on this light to medium bodied beer.

A pretty decent aroma and taste that kind of loses its appeal with the soapy aftertaste that this beer has.

This poured a clear, light orange. The aromatics were extremely powerful showing a mix of stone & citrus fruit along with some floral components. Grassy at first with plenty of grapefruit & a hint of tropical, exotic fruit on the back of the palate. Balanced with a hoppy bite. This is very soft in the mouth despite the hop presence. It leaves a lingering grapefruit finish.

Another very good effort from GoodLife. Hoping this gets canned or bottled soon.

A: yellow. Hazy. Haze partly due to the yeast sediment. Foamy head that disappeared quickly.

S: mango. Citrus. Light floral notes. Dough from yeast.

T: mango, citrus. Lemon peel. Light breadiness.

M: medium carbonation. Medium body.

O: this is a pretty good pale ale. Not bad, not outstanding. Light and slightly bitter.

From their website: Malt: NW Two Row, White Wheat, Briess Vienna
Hops: Pacifica, Galaxy
On the can 18 IBU. This beer is not an IPA or even a Pale Ale. It is a Blonde or Wit.

Pours cloudy gold with very little white head. Some wispy lacing.
Smells quite nice with a fruity and leathery hops aroma. The website also said this is made with all New Zealand hops.
Taste is fruity, pineapple, apricot, and some minor hop bitterness. Some soapiness probably from the hop variety.
Mouthfeel is medium and just enough carbonation.
Overall a tasty and somewhat unusual beer. I will possibly edit this review after I finish the six pack.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium, hazy golden amber with a healthy two finger white head with good retention and tons of lacing. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, peppery hops. Very nice flavor of light stone fruit, light tropical fruit, citrus, bready malt and low key, but nicely integrated grassy hops. Medium bodied with good active carbonation. This was a bit of a surprise, I'm not a big fan of apa's (rather go full bore IPA), but I liked the other Goodlife brews so decided to give it a t try. I'm glad I did, really enjoyed this. The sweetness is almost inappropriate for a apa, but there is enough going on here and it is so well balanced, that it worked well. This is probably closer in style to a hopped blonde. I liked this enough to not review it to style (and apa is not on the can nor website, so may not have been the style intended). If I were in the market for a six pack of a pleasant session ale, this would be in my top 10.

A solid lighter brew. Easy drinking with nice carbonation and a thorough middling malt with fresh hoppiness. Although this is in the wrong category... definitely not an APA, more like a Golden Ale, although that isn't a category. We need more categories on Beer Advocate, because APA certainly denotes something more hoppy than 18 IBU
