Congratulations! Welcome to flavor country. This most recent FFF’s pale ale has just the malt backbone to support an explosive juicy hop profile derived from a new blend of proprietary hops. Cheers.

Single-handedly, Three Floyds is redefining what the American pale ale is to become. Juicy hops rest upon semi-dry caramel for a bitter-sweet taste to boast about hop flavor and smooth bitter dryness. YumYum is living up to its namesake.

Its moderately hazed copper-gold pour casts upon it a creamy eggshell white blanket of foam. With the nose diving in, the hoppy ale opens with a scent that can only be described as candied hops. Its lavish bouquet expels a plethora of tropical fruit with citrus and herb to follow. Its honey and caramel sweetness skims the fruit flavor, giving them all a vibrant ripeness that seems of fruit juices.

Impeccably balanced, its short malt sweetness lays on the tastebuds with a porous veil of honey and caramel glaze. Hops reveal their juicy glory with mango, apricot, pineapple, kiwi and passionfruit. Its tropical punch character is backed with vivid red grapefruit, blood orange and nectarine as citrus and orchard fruits chime in. Finishing with a bright chive and cilantro grassiness, a hint of cannabis isn't far off.

Balanced until deep within its finish, the ale's bitterness is smooth and softly of spruce and botanical grasses and herbs. A crisp, clean and clear exit from the palate ensures a high rate of refreshment from the medium-light ale, yet a suggestion of buttered and salted graham cracker is peculiarly satisfying. (1,375 characters)

Poured out of the brand new released 12 oz bottles on September 18, 2014 at home.
For a refreshing Pale Ale, this beer packs a hoppy citrus punch that is not overly abusive. The mouthfeel is light and crisp with a hop-thirst quenching bitterness that's hard to beat. This isn't Zombie Dust, but it is definitely worth a try. (328 characters)

Poured into my Three Floyds tapered pint glass

A: Poured a clear orange/deep gold color with a fluffy white head that stuck around nicely

S: Huge hop aroma on this beer. Citrus and a honeydew like melon aroma

T: Follows the smell, lots of citrus and melon. I got orange notes, hints of grapefruit, some pineapple, and honeydew melon. The bitterness was pleasant, not over the top. The finish had some sweet malt, but this was a hop forward beer for sure.

M: Had decent body to it, not as thin as some other session ales I've had lately. Medium carb.

O: This says session ale on the bottle, but to me it was better than most of the other "session IPAs" I've had. It definitely drinks like a very hop forward APA. I'll miss Pride and Joy being easily accessible, but this was a very tasty substitute! (814 characters)

2 12 oz brown bottles(hey, this is a session ale right?). Label is typical 3F style with some sort of crazy man waving his psychedelic arms about, full blown beard, crazy outfit and all. Poured into a Nonic style pint glass.

A - slightly Hazy orange color with some yellow golden splashed about in the light. Small fuzzy particles floating about. Head pours decent but nothing great in size though it leaves terrific lace sticking to the glass.

S - peach, lemon, passion fruit, mango, and orange all hammer the nose with a fruit punch slash zebra gum notes. I'm talking front to back of the pack zebra gum in your nose. Nice floyds like malt balances the nose to perfection.

T - okay so much more like zebra gum than I expected. Terrific at first go, smelling excellent, but then jumps on the session wagon and fades out. Okay, maybe not that bad, but this thing is wonderful up front at first. Not quite as many popping flavors as the nose but it's hitting passion fruit and lemon with hints of funky fff yeast and breaded malts. Probably the best session ale I've ever had!

M - medium bodied and thick in texture for its size. I don't think 3 floyds know how to make a thin beer. This is a dominating aroma with a good session like flavor. Easy going and very drinkable.

O - they were already the kings of American pale ales and have added a very good session ale to go along with the gushing flavor giants they already have. They continue to evolve into the best there is and if they can get their beer into all their markets on a more regular basis I wouldnt have anything bad to say about them. But as of right now there just isn't enough or even close to enough FFF hitting our shelves like there was 2 years ago. (1,726 characters)

this is a truly amazing pale ale. a friend of mine went for a hike near golden and found some hops growing wild. being the prolific homebrewer he is, he brewed a number of beers with the hops, but neither of us could identify them. they has a chili pepper nose, a cantaloupe melon character, and a pineapple even peanutty vibe. its so weird that all his beers got tasted this week, and this thing fell into my lap. i swear the hops are the same. maybe its not a new varietal at all, but a rediscovered old wild vine, thats sure what it feels like. brassy hazy beer, killer carbonation and head, and a nose that does absolutely no justice to how interesting these hops are. its juicy and has note of melon and lemon cream and indeed that faint chili pepper character. i dont know what this hops is, but i need more of it. my only critique of this beer is its label calling it a session ale. i mean, it is, i would drink ten of these if i had them tonight, but i consider a session ale under 5% abv, thats my line, self declared, but i stand by it. its just a pale ale, but its not just a pale ale. as vibrant and unique as any hoppy beer going right now, this is absolutely brilliant. thanks to claystation for giving me this, but im afraid he doesnt realize what he has given up. this is killer, really really good. someone tell me more about the hops! (1,352 characters)

nice amber in colour with a 1/2 inch creamy head

orange, citrus, almost a sweet aroma

citrus presence front and center, nice hop finish.

medium mouthfeel, no bitter aftertaste or lingering aftertaste.

I realy enjoy this beer, a classic session ale that I would put next to seudo sue and stone delicious. (307 characters)
