This pale ale, as its namesake, will inspire awe. Brewed exclusively with hops grown in Michigan. Pay homage to the Man-O-Awe with this beer lest you meet him in person.

Bottled 3/7/14; drank 3/23/14 @ the Yarchives.

Clear orange hue.

Big off-white head; thick lace.

Light orange citrus nose.

Medium thin mouthfeel.

Muted orange citrus flavor with a hint of cream; dry biscuit & a slight hop bite on the finish.

Sessionable; forgettable.

Aw man, why is this retired?

Man-O-Awe was one of the first hoppy beers I really liked, caramel toffee sweetness to round out the hoppiness really made me happy at the time.

People looking for big FFF hops who like to smacked in the face with their beers are gonna come down on this and reading the reviews I thought it'd suck. But it's complex, malty with some sweet notes, completely balanced and quite frankly wonderful. Broaden your palates. I'm gonna back to the party store and buying the rest of these.

Review t aken March 2, 2014.

22 oz bottle with sweet artwork. A beastly, tusked man monster in battle armour. Poured into a nonic pint glass.

A - Hazy, murky orange body with a good head leaving very nice stick.

S - mild fruitiness up front with some pineapple and melon. A breaded malt balances soft pine notes. The smell is simple but brilliant.

T - okay, so I was a bit let down by the flavor. Not as hop forward as I thought it would be based on its nose. I found some lemon and melon laying underneath an almost too unique malt base. The softest of pine notes and faint fruitiness round it out.

M - lighter side of a medium body with good texture like always from 3F. It drinks smooth, but is a little malt heavy imo. Still drinkable.

O - Man O awe is a weird release from the pale ale kings. It just doesn't sum up to the zombie dusts, alpha kings, space station middle fingers, and even yum yums. Sure, it's a decent beer, but worthy of a fff bottle? I'm not so sure. Not with the quality they've been putting out. I admire the use of all Michigan grown hops if fff were Michigan based, but the fact is they just didn't do their job here, so ditch them and use what you've been using. I respect you guys way too much and have tasted your liquid class in a bottle. Give me more of that stuff.. Worth the try though.

22 oz bomber poured into a pint glass at fridge temperature. Fresh.
Look = 4.5 Pours a cloudy light brown with a hint of orange. One finger of off white head with medium carbonation and lace. Pretty beer.
Smell = 3.0 Light aroma. Mostly earthy and hint of citrus. Balanced with sweet bready malts.
Taste = 3.5 Light citrus up front, balanced nicely. A little sweet. Light bitterness on the finish that hangs around in the after taste.
Feel = 4.0 Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
Drinkability = 4.5 Very easy to drink pale ale.
Overall = 3.7 Complex enough to stay interesting but far from overbearing. Balanced.
