Poured into a pint glass out of a 22oz bomber.
Pours a slightly hazy medium copper with a one finger fluffy white head. Pretty average head retention and lacing.
Aroma is lacking on this one, I feel. Some light airy fruit in the way of pineapple and mango along with a slight bit of mint. A touch of bread but it is faint. Just weak overall.
The flavor has a little more going for it but not much. Much more hop character and some unusual notes in the way of mint, bubblegum, and even strawberry. More light bread malt in the background along with a high bitterness. I do love the mouthfeel; very silky and light with a dry finish.
Overall, this beer is unique but a little uninspiring. I love the story behind the hops and they do provide some unique flavors but overall, I feel a little more could have been done to make this beer outstanding.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 6/17/2014. Pours slightly hazy bright orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, light toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/floral hops and moderate malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, light toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, light toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance, robustness, and complexity of citrus/grassy hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good pale ale. Good complexity and balance of citrus/grassy hops and moderate malt sweetness; with very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
