Reddish-brown color with mild carbonation. Off-white thin head with medium-retention.
Rich on the nose with roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg, orange zest, cocoa powder.
Light hop spice, light resin, citrus, hazelnuts, brown sugar, molasses, cocoa powder. The overall feel on the palate is rich, lush and brown with the lighter notes as a gentle counterpoint in the background.
Rich, medium-full bodied mouthfeel that pushes all the way back across the palate. The beer has so much richness that it feels almost off-dry although it is very clean. Really a wonderful sense of balance in this beer. Great job with the American version of this style.
