Notes/Commercial Description:
30 IBUs - A bold Scottish ale with a complex malty body derived from roasted and crystal malts balanced with just the right combination of hops. This ale pours a deep ruby color, has a sweet malty nose with layered caramel and roasted notes and a full body. Robust yet smooth, Robert The Bruce is a malt lover’s delight.

Serving was a 12oz bottle.
This poured a very nice Ruby/bronze color with a heavy carbonation. The Tan head lingered for several minutes and left heavy lacing down the side of the glass.

The scent was very light with traces of malts and some hoppiness.

The flavor up front is a huge sweet Caramel Nutty Malt flavor with some small alcohol taste, but is quickly followed by an equally big bitter hoppiness that lingers on long afterword. Very balanced as the sudden sweetness of the malts disappears quickly to the pleasant hops.

Has a very nice mouthfeel with the nice mouthfeel with a pleasant warming with the alcohol notes and the complexities in flavors going on.

A very drinkable Beer, hard to beleive it is 9% ABV. Drinks easier than a lot of 5percenters in the same style. This beer will quickly find a spot in my fridge on a semi regular basis.

A- Deep mahogany with amber accents. Dense khaki head

S- Smokey peat, cocoa nibs, crystal malts.

T- Follows nose well. Slight bitterness present for a style that doesn't normally have it. Lots of roasted malts and caramel. Some bready character.

M- Creamy, lighter body. Rich, yet smooth. Dry finish.

O- Very good. Top notch for the style.
