Before I drank Belgian beer, I drank a lot of American micros. I was not reviewing at the time. I do not remember this beer as being quite as hoppy as it is now, but I must review what I am drinking.
Pours dark coppery brown. Medium head. Smell is roasted and hoppy. Fairly hoppy taste with malt. Good carbonation with a dry finish. Alcohol is well hidden(be careful).
In general Three Floyd's has gotten the edge back. They are brewing their own beer now and the beers are back to previous standards. This is a fine example of the Scottish ale.
