App: Opaque Dark brown with some ruby hues on the edges. Thick, frothy head that leaves decent lace.
Smell: A malt dream. Strong roasted character that shows itself in coffee aromas. A fruity undertone, perhaps from the hops, that is key for the malty beers. As it warms faint hints of chocolate emerge.
Taste: Disappointing beginning and middle with just a slight sweetness that fades into some alcohol and herbal hops. Ends well, though, with a smooth chocolate finish and just the right amount of hops. Nothing kills me more than an overly hoppy scotch ale.
The body is full, but the flavor is lacking and watery so it is confusing to drink.
