30 IBUs - A bold Scottish ale with a complex malty body derived from roasted and crystal malts balanced with just the right combination of hops. thanks to jamie for this bottle.

A- deep dark burnt red color. very little if any head

S- Peet and smoke malt. almost scotch whiskey like

T- Malt bomb x2 barely any hops to be tasted. peet and earthly notes. some herbal farm like taste.

M-thick and rich. a little heavy for me. but not bad

O- I am not a big fan of scotch ales but this one is ok. one is more than enough by itself. a hearty winter meal would be good to suit it.

A: a very deep amber with ruby highlights, the body looks clean and clear, some carb it generates a richy and very creamy tan head with good retention

S: some chocolate, smoky, nutty, a little butter, toffe, some alcohol

T: complex and well balanced, all the aromas are present, the body is heavy, the aftertaste is bitter and the alcohol is noticed, more smoky flavour than sweet caramel

Not exactly sure why I've never reviewed this beer. I've only had it eleventy-billon times. So, finally...12oz bottle at our pre-ugly sweater party into tasting glass.

A - Pours a dark brownish/red color, tan-colored head, thin collar, wisps on top.

S - Nice level of malts and hops, as only FFF can do. Caramel, bready notes, molasses, toasted malts, and, of course, hops.

T - Sweet up front, hoppy on the finish. Caramel, molasses, burnt sugars, and a nix dose of bitter hops on the end. Really nice.

M - Light, smooth, super-easy to gulp down.

O - FFF really killed it on their take of a Scottish Ale. All the sweetness is there, that you would expect of the style. Their "not normal" take is to add a nice balance of hops to go along with the sweetness. Great stuff.

Poured from a 12oz bottle to a Cigar City Snifter.

Color: Brown with a tan head.

Smell: Roasted malts, toffee and alcohol.

Taste: Sweet roasted malts, toffee, hops.

Mouthfeel: Mid-low carbonation, medium coarse and mid dry feel.

Overall: From the aroma I wasn't wxpecting the sweetness up front. It was a nice welcome though. Definitely a decent Scottish Ale. Cheers!
