Part of my craft beer week festivities. Color is dark reddish. Head is pretty thick yet fades sort of quick.
Odor is slightly buttery and sweet. Some maple and caramel.
Taste is good overall. Pretty well balanced as it starts sweet and then continues through to the end. Some nuttiness as well.
Mouth feel is pretty smooth. Medium in body.

A: This beer pours a wonderful light brown with dark yellow hues around the edges of the beer. There is only about a half finger of head on this beer, and it settles quickly. Minimal lacing as it drinks.

S: The nose is caramel, roast, and cream. It's slightly buttery, but it's in a good way. I can dig it.

T: It starts out sweet and creamy. There is a nice slight roast and tons of caramel to this brew. The is also a slight touch of golden raisin. It's pleasant.

M: Medium bodied beer. It's not overly sweet, or cloying. It's just smooth and creamy on the palate.

O: This is pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of scotch ales, but I'm diggin' this beer. I'd drink this again if given the oppertunity.

Bottle courtesy of korguy123 poured in to Founders tulip.

A - Dark amber colour with a very slight ruby glow scattered throughout. One finger of cream coloured head formed and quickly receded to a thin layer.

S - Sweet brown sugar and a touch of maple up front that gives way to lighter scotch and toffee notes. A fairly sweet overall nose. Not over-the-top sweet or scotch-y like many scotch ales tend to be.

T - A very balanced palate with equal parts toffee, brown sugar and whiskey. The background adds some complexity - scotch, bready malts, smoke, raisins and figs.

M - Medium body. Light to moderate carbonaiton.

O - One of the better scotch ales that I have had. No one flavour dominated the nose or palate. Very complex and very well balanced.
