Spring 2014 vintage; drank 1/31/15 @ the Yarchives.
Brown/black appearance.
Minimal dark khaki head; minimal lace.
Marshmallow, dark cherry & rich mocha nose. Bold!
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Rich mocha, coconut & dark cherry flavors up front; a mild cinnamon bite settled on my lips over the course of the session. Bourbon warmth emerged as this warmed.
A delicious, complex monster of a dessert treat. Wow!

Poured from bottle. Pours black with dark tan head. Lots of smoked meats on aroma with some bourbon and cocoa. Taste of dates, raisins, bourbon, smoked meats, coffee, cocoa. Really don’t get any vanilla. Very well done “porter”.

My husband traded for this last summer and just cracked it as a New Years treat. Wow it is SO good! Sweet but not overly. Cherry and vanilla flavors are noticed but not overwhelming. Delicious!

750 ml bottle into a snifter. Bottled 3//17, had 4/28/17.
Pours near black, opaque and lightly oily looking, with a half inch, quickly dissipating head of darker foam and some soapy lacing. Smells of bourbon, malt, vanilla, cocoa, chocolate, oak, light smoke, a light kind of mustard aroma. This smells great. The taste is roasted malt, bourbon, cocoa, caramel, chocolate, vanilla, oak, some molasses, light alcohol. Really smooth for the ABV, creamy, a great full body, well carbonated.
Whatever barrels they used are incredible, great flavor and aroma. Such a well crafted beer. Did not get any cherries out of it, though. At a higher price point, but well worth a purchase.

Bomber bottle poured into snifters.
Dark, near pitch black, opaque with thin whispy tan head and collar.
Aroma of bourbon barrel and rich vanilla and sweet cherry.
Flavor has smooth bourbon barrel, hints of bittersweet baking cocoa and vanilla beans. Sweet candied cherries and a hint of fresh cherry tartness. Not full on sour as some have said, mine has been in the fridge for a few months.
Pretty rich body, bit syrupy, smooth lighter carbonation.
A complex and full flavored brew. The hint of tartness may not be on purpose, but went with the cherry flavors. Rich vanilla and bourbon in the aroma and taste.
