Big thanks to aasher for helping me get my hands on this one.
A: Dreadnaught pours an almost copper hue and sits lazily in the glass. Even with laser etching, and a good swirl, this brew can't seem to muster up any lacing. I'll forgive the mediocre head retention, due to the ABV, and the haze, due to the IBUs, but it should have something going on. It just seems kind of lifeless =o\
S: What was dead to the eye is a fountain of energy to the nose, which is greeted with an onslaught of bitter citrus in the form of grapefruit, pine, mango, and rosemary.
T: Very dry, given the abv, with a definite emphasis on hops. Bitter resins in the front, a brief intermission of honey sweetness in the middle, and a lingering expression of tropical fruits and woody herbs.
M: Light body, low carbonation, significant astringency, and fairly clean finish.
O: Definitely a kick-ass IIPA. It is a shame that this may be one of only a handful of times I will taste this brew, due to FFF's philosophy on distribution. Be that as it may, this is a superb brew that deserves every bit of the recognition it receives.
