Aroma definitely has a plethora of citrus hoppinesd to it...grapefruit in abundance. However, it's also blessed with a good, thick malty around in there as well. Pretty balanced.
Pours a nice, somewhat dark blonde color with a fluffy head.
The taste? Just what a like in a DIPA. Starts off with a stinging grapefruit hoppiness but it then shows a tropical side to the hops as well. The label claims peach and mango, which are believable (perhaps more peach). Underneath is a thick, spicy sweet caramel malt which plays second to the hops but not by much. Doesn't leave a lot of lingering bitterness either. Just a great beer.
This is definitely a new favorite in the style for me. It's just too bad that it's difficult to get for me.
