Three Floyds Dreadnaught Imperial IPA.
Poured from a 22 ounce bottle into a CBS snifter. Served chilled...
A) Hazy copper brew with a good finger slightly off white head. The head slowly settles to a dusting and then a thick collar. Nice lacing...
S) Quite a lovely nose, full of really sweet tropical fruits and light citrus. I think a little bit of pine as well.
T) The hops and the malt really appear to be in perfect balance with this particular beer. This starts with such nice tropical fruit sweetness. Feels like there's just a kiss of honey as well. Then finishes with a piney kind of grassy alcohol tingle. It's just really nice.
M) Full-bodied with moderate carbonation, feels supple, very smooth, right up to the finish, which has that tingle I mentioned, but really a very easy drinking beer.
O) Okay Dr. K, you were 100% correct. I can't believe I waited so long to drink this beer. It is one of the best Imperial IPAs I've had the pleasure of drinking. Absolutely fantastic, and I would certainly recommend it to any hop lover.
