A: Pours a beautiful dark orange with golden hues and a huge frothy white head. Nice lacing. Good looking beer
S: Tropical fruit, grapefruit, citrus and piney hops. This smells divine.
T/M: Excellent. Everything on the smell, with citrus flavors and piney hops prominent. This one shares characteristics with the Russian River Pliney's in that it's exceptionally well balanced and the bitterness on the finish is muted. Nothing worse than bitterness that just blows away everything.
D: Hides its alcohol extremely well. The lack of huge bitterness from finishing hops on the end also adds to the drinkability.
An amazing double IPA, up there with the RRBC Pliney, which had previously been my benchmarks. I can see why this one is widely acclaimed.
