Poured from bomber into Urthel tulip glass, with roughly a finger off-white head.
Initial smell is of pears, peaches, pineapple. Lots of pineapple this time. But it fluctuates. Very light and harmless alcohol buried in there.
Update: poured bomber into CBS snifter and caught excellent mango all day. In aroma and taste!!!!
(Second ~6 oz. pour from bomber yielded far more malt, caramel and toasty, but still excellent amount of hops aroma and taste!)
Quick bitter bite up front leads into smooth citrus fruits, mango, more pineapple. Nicely spiced, little malt presence right now -- will wait to see what I find as it warms to room temperature. Nice crispness, to say the least.
Resiny mouthfeel that thins over time. Pretty OK carbonation.
Overall, this is just one of the standards in my book. It's an Imperial IPA that's rarely challenged, here in the Midwest. It's fruity, bitter, drinkable, and supremely balanced for its style as it warms up.
No complaints here, just praise.
