22oz bottle poured into a tulip

Three Floyds dreadnought pours a golden hazy color with about a finger of creamy head. Great lacing all the down on this one. The smell is classic FFF, but as intense as I thought it was going to be. The taste is juicy hops up front with a nice malty sweet backbone that is balanced with just enough bitterness. It's got a thicker body then some of west coast DIPA which gives it a creamy mouth feel. Dreadnaught really leaves you wanting more after each sip. As always, FFF doesn't disappoint.

Fresh from FFF picked up 5 days ago
Poured into FFF Teku glass

Appearance: Hazy orange, copper, yellow. Gorgeous two finger bone white head with small tight bubbles that dissipate quickly to a ring that invites rising bubbles to join it along the edges of the glass. There is lacing as the head made itself known on the glass.

Smell: Well here is FFF awesome signature citrus hop profile with orange, grapefruit, mango, pineapple and a bready malt.

Taste: Again this is so very typical of a FFF IPA and follows the nose showcasing the citrus notes but up front I'm getting more sweetness than I've noticed in their other IPA's. Don't get me wrong it's bitter but I get an initial sweetness for a fleeting second on the tongue. Then the citrus hits mid palate and then the bitter notes take hold and follow through to the swallow.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a surprising creamy smoothness. I noticed the creamy quality right away and this one does coat the palate with all its great bitterness. This does feel sticky to me but in a good way because I feel like this adds to its ability to coat my mouth with it's hops.

Overall: I seem to say it every time I try a new FFF offering, especially one of their IPA's but they just do not disappoint! This is highly drinkable for 9.5% as the abv is very well hidden. Another one knocked out of the park!
