A: Pours an amber/copper color that is barely see through. Medium head that quickly disappears leaving a thin layer throughout the tasting.
S: Wonderful smell. Smells of fresh american hops and pineapple. Completely different then any irish red I have smelled before.
T: Hits you initially with a powerful amount of hops. Not your typical cascade taste but still distinctly american. It is a large amount of hop taste for an irish red but it doesn't taste unbalanced or out of place. Hints of caramel and pineapple are present. Finishes with some caramel notes.
M: Medium mouthfeel and good carbonation
D: Really enjoyed this hoppy irish red. I personally haven't had anything like it in the style so I would venture to call it my favorite irish red. Extremely drinkable. I could drink a 6-pack of this (if they made one) relatively easily. Another solid Three-Floyds beer. I enjoyed the original take on an old style. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
